It's not really but the thought of having my every word recorded and logged is not for me at all.

Not hearing all that "if you've nothing to hide" ****e neither. Everyone has something to hide.

But really it's the idea of being recorded and logged in my own gaff.
Nah, I'm good turning off my own lights ta<laugh>

Theres about 30000 apps to cancel any recording.

In this world if they want to record you they will find a way.
True but there ways to make that a lot harder. Samsung phones have a chip under the battery sticker that tracks without the phone being on. I take that off.
Certain apps I won't have on my phone like Snapchat or fb.
It's a privacy thing for me. More than a security thing.

I don't use social media at all but I'm happy to have these devices in my home.

Yeah that's fair enough luv its a personal choice..
Data gathering is a massive business, fb/Google(skynet) have enough money without making more off what I say in the privacy of my own home.

The light app saves you money, plus it has some great ways to stop you getting burgled. Its not laziness as I still use the light switch. The voice stuff is a gimmick tbh, but surround lighting is cool when watching a film.

It's one of those things that people seem to hate if they haven't got it or tried it.

I personally think the benefits of having a Google Home far outweigh the negatives.

I personally think the day I turn the key in the lock and step into a Google Home, is the day I set fire to it for insurance purposes, **** off to the Australian outback, and live in a tree eating barbecued snake.

Each to their own though.

Turning it off is the best app <ok>

Phones, laptops etc all have built in microphones btw!
Turning it off means nothing mate.
See my previous post about Samsung battery chips above.

Google home with a physical key.

Not likely <laugh>

Edward Snowden only scratched the surface of mass surveillance.

As funny as that is its entirely possible.

I don't like it.

I don’t like it either. Not because I’m worried about getting my door kicked in at 5.00 am for discussing how best to hit Boris Johnson with a milkshake - more because I don’t want corporate capitalism invading every aspect of my life in a bid to sell me **** I don’t want or need.

You should sleep more.
