Ask her please log in to view this image so what mod cons you have, are they worth it? seems pretty cool turning your lights on from your phone, but what are the hidden costs? ps, **** off @PISKIE candles don't count
Turn your lights on from your phone My lights are voice activated, this ain't the 00's ffs!! I don't use Alexa though, all my lights, heating etc. runs through Google Home.
I have them around the house, great for music as they all link up. Also great for phoning people, don't need your phone at all.
Couldn’t think of anything more boring than spending a day looking for a piece of kit that turns lights on and off.
I bought my mum an Alexa for Christmas, it basically spends it's time saying 'Sorry, I don't know the answer to that one'. Other than that my daughter just tells it to play the Peppa Pig theme tune. Overall opinion = it's ****.
Reminds me of when they brought out powdered tea, for ****s who were too lazy to use a tea bag. Didn’t take off, surprisingly, because it was ****ing rank.
It's not really but the thought of having my every word recorded and logged is not for me at all. Not hearing all that "if you've nothing to hide" ****e neither. Everyone has something to hide. But really it's the idea of being recorded and logged in my own gaff. Nah, I'm good turning off my own lights ta
The light app saves you money, plus it has some great ways to stop you getting burgled. Its not laziness as I still use the light switch. The voice stuff is a gimmick tbh, but surround lighting is cool when watching a film. It's one of those things that people seem to hate if they haven't got it or tried it. I personally think the benefits of having a Google Home far outweigh the negatives.
