I think our fans have responded really well this season. Everyone knew that we needed to change the manager, but even after that, when things were not going our way we've got behind the lads. Appointing someone who was familiar with the club has helped, but also the way he has spoken to, and about us has made it easier. Once Sunday is out the way we need to put this season behind us, and embrace the new chapter. Expectations are surely lower now, so maybe we can just appreciate it more when the 11 put graft in and we maybe don't get the wins we've been accustomed to from a couple years ago. I'm excited about things, hopefully a couple youngsters can force their way in as well.
As good as he has been between the sticks, his kicking is pretty hopeless. Hence I can’t see him going to Russia. I think it will be Butland, Pickford and Hart.
Alex with backup of the young lad at Dundee should be enough. Frazer should be allowed to leave to free up a bit of cash
I have never rated Butland, but he has got worse in the last four months. Might be a confidence thing, but I'd prefer Hart. So, Gareth should seize this amazing opportunity, an untarnished in form Englander......who is a bit weak with his feet, but has reactions of a cat!
His lack of ability to kick it well should be a reason to pick him for England. We might not just hoof it then.
There was talk of him being a particularly disruptive influence in the dressing room. Think he’s wanted out for a while.
He's not happy about not playing, but he'll never get paid more elsewhere. Never got the impression he's disruptive though.
No me neither. But he has bags of ability and his performances were poor. It makes sense if he was dropped for more than 1 reason. And he has wanted out for a while.
From all the interviews and such he's always sounded very popular from what the other players have said about him.
Forster was never going to be happy about being dropped. He should be bloody happy that he wasnt dropped sooner though, he was in an awful run of form and that was when he had a decent defence in front of him. McCarthy has been a real POTY contender but we have conceded a lot of goals with him between the sticks. Strangely it has rarely seemed to be him at fault per se. Contrasts with forster who very often was at fault for either doing nothing or doing something wrong. Is that a perception thing I wonder, did we scapegoat Forster and McCarthy benefitted from simply not being big FF?
