Play him on plush premier league pitches against fancy tippy tappy opposition! Play him against Spurs, say.
With respect to Burton I can't imagine their players are the most subtle in their methods.
Ale earned a place in that WHL lineup with his performance against Hull, and harry's crass sloppy team selection denied him that. He denied him the last premier league swansong that his rehabilitation efforts richly warranted. And now Faurlin will probably retire <ok>

OK, I respect your opinion, but I can't imagine that there was much wrong with the pitch at Burton only a few weeks into the season. As for the physicality of Burton's play I can't comment as I didn't see the game.
Anyway, most importantly I hope Ale makes a speedy recovery

I wasn't there Grifter, but everything I heard and read was that it was a nothing incident that could have happened anywhere at WHL, Loftus Rd, the training ground, and probably his back garden. I don't rate Arry's team selections either, not at all, but from all I hear Arry can hardly be blamed for the state of Ale's knee.

Stupid decision to play him. One of our only cultured midfield players shouldn't be sent out against lumpers in the cup. (All credit those lumpers are better than us)

To be honest, if it didn't happen against Burton it would have happened against Sunderland. Ale doesn't seem to be built for high level sport.

Really feel for Ale, but even when he does recover, I think it's time to say bye. I'm not sure if he can cope with Premier League football.

Major blow for the club and even bigger blow for the man.

Ale has brought us much joy in a relatively short space of time. Hoping for a speedy recovery, would loved to have seen him play at a World Cup for Argentina.

Let's hope our first goal celebration of the season (on Saturday) is dedicated to him again as this would make all R's immensely proud.

Absolutely gutted for him. He is our longest serving player and certainly a fans favourite. Genuinely gutted, he seems like such a decent guy and cares for the club.

Yet another injury from a cup game.

I hope we sing his name in the 18th minute tomorrow (his squad number).

Horrendous news, simply horrendous. Just which God has poor Ale upset?

As someone pointed out, he did walk off the pitch, so maybe (clutching at straws) this isn't as bad as his previous injuries.

A guy on Report posted this link about someone who had suffered 5 serious knee operations and not missed a game for the last 3 seasons.

However slight, there is hope for Ale.

Been busy all day and just seen this.

I am absolutely gutted. I have been trying to think of something comforting to write, but cannot find the words.
Everyone associated with our club have you in our thoughts, Ale!

I sometimes think we are cursed. Ale could have been a more recent QPR legend but has not been very lucky and had the chance to constantly shine and show us all.

As someone who has had several knee reconstructions, I personally believe that the reason some players have reoccurring knee problems is simply down to that individuals' DNA.
There is an obvious fault / weakness in their body's genes, so they are prone to ongoing breakdowns.
I've seen it many times in rugby leagues here in Oz..
There are two brothers playing first grade NRL and both have had 3 or 4 ACL's done.

Unfortunately for Ale, he too looks to fit into this same category.
It forced me to stop playing.

ALEJANDRO FAURLIN UNDERGOES ACL SURGERY

QPR midfielder Alejandro Faurlin undergoes ACL surgery

QPR midfielder Alejandro Faurlin has undergone surgery on the ACL injury he sustained in our Capital One Cup tie against Burton Albion last month.

The Argentine ace, 28, went under the knife on Monday afternoon.

Dr. Peter Florida, Head of Medical Services, told www.qpr.co.uk: “Ale has had his ACL reconstructed, using a different graft. He also had a very little reinforcement, which is a slightly different operation to the one he had previously.

“The surgeon was very pleased with how things went which is positive.

“Ale is still in hospital, but he's in better spirits now than he was a week or so ago, so we're all grateful for that.”

Faurlin will begin his rehabilitation when he comes off his crutches in the next 6-8 weeks.

Florida added: “The rehab will be quite an extensive one, because it's a repair of a repair, so we're looking at about nine months to get him back to fitness.

“His rehab will be fairly slow for the first couple of months, which will be quite frustrating for Ale.

“He's going to be on crutches for about 6-8 weeks, because of the nature of the repair. After that period, he'll then start to kick on with his recovery.”
