Really sad for Ale. Exactly the sort of player we want at QPR. Never heard of anyone doing their ACL three times. Possibly young enough to get over it, but would imagine the mental damage could be too much.
Ffs.
Ffs.
No last day knee-jerk decisions
Not the most apt of phrases Goldie!...
For anyone who hasn't read Clive Whittingham's report:
On Wednesday night Harry Redknapp selected Ale Faurlin from the start, fresh back from his second ruptured cruciate knee ligament injury in as many seasons, and then watched as the Argentinean pulled up holding his knee in the corner after chasing back a tired ball heâd given away. Even then, with Faurlin in discomfort, they seemed initially to be wondering if he could ârun it offâ. Rangers were painfully slow to get him off the field and Leroy Fer on â Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan down on the touchline, turning to Redknapp at the back of the main stand and shrugging. Redknapp, forced to stand up and do something, shrugging back at them. f**ing amateur hour.
Very well saidThis is so sad. It has the feeling of the football equilalent to death.
Thank you Ale. You always gave us your best & that was good enough to put you on the verge of the Argentine squad before that fateful day in Milton Keynes.
Colin has stated more than once that you were by far the best player he ever managed & I remember Barton saying shortly after his arrival that he had not realised that we pocessed such a good player.
For me, you are the one player that we have had in this decade that could have held their own in the sides of 72/76 & 82/84 & you will remain one of my favourite all time Rangers until I pass from this life.
I hope that we have the chance to say a proper fair well to you before you head back home.
Before anyone asks, NO, I don't know that this is the end of Ale as a footballer but it sure feels that way to me.
If it was going to go again it makes no difference who did what, sadly, it really does look like the end now for one of our classiest players of the last two decades...
Stupid decision to play him. One of our only cultured midfield players shouldn't be sent out against lumpers in the cup. (All credit those lumpers are better than us)
