Yeah, also had Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Dominic Matteo and Gary Kelly who were good players back then. David O'Leary was a top manager then too haha
 
Leeds were a solid team in the early 00's, finished in the top 4 once or twice didn't they? I think Nigel Martyn was their first choice keeper though. Fowler, Kewell, Viduka, Batty and Bowyer were all class. Then of course Ferdinand in defense who was in top form.

edit - was 3 times in the top 4 actually.

To say hugely inconsistent is an exaggeration, Leeds fans love him for more reasons than just because he was a local boyhood fan, his workrate was good and he would produce moments that showed he was growing into a top player. He was still reasonably young when he was with them, plenty of years ahead and you have to admit they looked very promising.

Aye when I saw West Ham suggested I thought no ****ing way. Yes he's **** but I distinctly remember him running games at fizzy pop level in the first half of our season down there. I don't want him helping them. Saying that they are one of the only ones who can afford to make a worthy contribution.

Weird, 5 of my close family members are Leeds fans and they tell me that most of you guys still love him but that its still a bit of a sore point between the few people who think he's a traitor and other people who think he' still a legend.
