There certainly is regular hockey played there, but is it just overflow? Before 2009 they had been forced to move 4 times already. This is exactly what I say about what happens to clubs that do not have their own grounds. It s the same for many sports.

Hull council to take legal action on Airco Arena pitch

A council has threatened to take legal action against the owners of Hull City after a synthetic pitch was laid in a sports arena by the club.

Hull City Council said it had asked the club to remove the pitch after it was laid at the Airco Arena, on Walton Street, on Tuesday without permission.

Clubs using the venue were told last month to vacate the building so the Tigers could use it for their academy.

Hull City have been approached for a comment.

The authority said it had written a letter to the Premier League side's stadium management committee notifying them it had breached its lease agreement with the council.

Hull City previously said installing the new pitch would allow it to apply for a new academy status.

Council leader Stephen Brady said: "The club have changed the use of the arena with scant regard for the impact on hundreds of people who use the facility day-in, day-out and the community sports clubs who are proud to call it their home.

"It's on their behalf that we take this action today."

Thousands of people signed a petition opposing Hull City's plans to install the pitch.

A misleading headline, but well done the Council for pursuing this. <ok>

Reactions: Party Hull!
I understand Brady was on the Burns show today, does anyone know what he said?

Even if you listened to the show you would still be unclear what Brady said. That sad sack should be put out to pasture.
But on saying that, at least they are putting the wind up Allam so I say go for it Bradders<party>

Phil Webster I believe. (Apologies if I'm wrong)

For clarification: I'm not raising this as a party political point, merely to try to clarify why there could be some difficulties.
Whats all this then??? From Webbo

i can also inform the fans on here that the Allams DID offer the SMC back to the council for £1, the only problem was that they gave us that day to agree, on further investigation the owners had put the £ms that Adam borrowed against the SMC back on the accounts as a debt which would have left the council with a multi million pound bill, making an agreement essentially impossible. so with possible legal action now in the pipeline you will find that it will go quiet as anything said would likely be raised in court, but as I said earlier we are fighting this.

You're really hoping it's not a mistake where he actually means Bartlett aren't you? <laugh>

Frightening isn't it? I think a few Hull FC supporters explained to him it was Bartlett that took out the mortgage not Pearson.

Should a councillor be posting this stuff on a forum?? Jesus christ. How thick is he?

I don't see any problem with him posting factually correct information on a forum. I don't recall ever meeting him so I'm unable to speculate on his intelligence. First impressions are not encouraging though.

Its almost like some Councillors are acting in preference to RL and against Hull City AFC.

Nah. Impossible.

I can't work out if his error, or honesty, are funny or make me want to cry.

The adverts are ****.

They're job descriptions put into an advert.

They've done nothing to sell themselves to prospective candidates.

No description of what the company currently achieves & what ambitions it has for the future. No pointers as to how the successful candidate could make a difference. No reference to any company benefits other than a modest salary.

The whole ad is about what is expected from the candidate & nothing about what the candidate can expect from their employer.

Any suitably qualified & experienced prospective applicants will give it a wide berth.

**** at this marketing lark, aren't they?
