I am right in thinking that the club tried to attach a great deal of hurry to this whole episode, citing Premier League deadlines, that made it necessary to evict locals at short-notice, and make outrageous demands of the Council?

They did say that, effectively, didn't they?

Yes and yes.

Basically, they've evicted local sports teams for literally **** all.

The sad thing is that when these clubs shut it is really hard getting them going again. I have been involved in a couple of volunteer community type things over the years, and in the same way that it is much harder getting a new season pass holder (or old season pass holder who gave up) to sign up again, compared to getting a pass holder to renew, it is really difficult getting these clubs off the ground again. The damage is huge. Often they are pretty fragile even with the huge efforts the volunteers put in.

At the last FWG meeting James Mooney told us that the Premier League had, out of the blue, informed them that an audit was going to take place and they had no recourse to get the date changed. This meant that they had no time to implement options other than evicting the Airco users. He either lied to us or someone lied to him.

We need a 3g pitch. We've got one. Couldnt give a **** about **** non sports like roller derby and bouncing.

Its in Hull which is even better. I hope they build a 3g pitch on the other courts.

Done.

I don't deny we need a 3g pitch. What today has proven is that our multi-millionaire owners had all the time in the world to build a proper one in a suitable place for our club. The only deadlines were their own.

They chose to commandeer a public facility, and evict the most vulnerable in favour of a club which is in the richest league in the world.

You not giving a **** about this is not defence of the Allams - but speaks volumes about you.

Awww shame.
I look forward to seeing you on Look North at the forefront of the protest. Nah the internets a wonderful thing talk talk talk bluster whine do **** all

If there was no hurry, then why did they put themselves through this? It's baffling.

I get the impression that this is probably how they always do business, except with Hull City it's a Premier League football club, so much more microscope than Allam Marine, and authorities like the Council and the Premier League won't accept being made mugs of publicly (add the FA to that list from previous nonsense).

I dread to think how small businesses dealing with Allam Marine, or even staff, have been treated over the years. People who don't carry them same weight as the FA, PL or HCC.

Bullies, except this time they've called out publicly by bigger boys.

On the way home caught sports talk on RH...

  • Mike White accused the club of 'cowardice' ...
  • The woman from the gym club was just about in tears - nowhere realistically to re-locate, having to store (some) equipment outside the Airco , may have to fold the club , run by volunteers for the community, at no profit, no seeking of egotistic 'public' admiration .. ( & vulgar use of honorary qualifications)
  • Reading out the PL statement as bluff to the truth

& yet some fail to see the toad for what he really is

Awww shame.

What planet are you on, and what has this got to do with anything? You don't know if I'm in charge or the airco for all campaign or if I'm a spotty teenager fresh home from school.

What has my actions got to do with supporting the owner of a multi-million pound business who is kicking people out of publicly owned venues?

I can't fathom it. There's three authorities who Hull City either have to work very closely with, or seek the approval of for something or other they want.

HCC - Rent the stadium, which is inside the city of Hull - Pissed them off immediately, and continue to bait them.
FA - Governors of the game, will decide the name change app - Issued a superficial application with no detail, made a frivolous appeal, won on a technicality, reissued it adding nothing.
PL - Current league, will decide on the academy - Made up lies about the deadline date, supposedly set by the PL, as a way of justifying the eviction of locals from a facility and continued lies about the Council.

I'd say that everything they want to achieve would be hugely helped by having these lot onside, and I bet the FA & PL are less than impressed at being dragged into this ****. It couldn't be worse.

“Apparently we only missed on level two by two per cent. You have to achieve 5,000 points to achieve level two status and we missed out by 125 points. We asked for them to reconsider with us only being two per cent off but they came back and said no, even though since the review we’ve appointed another 12 people. We’ve now asked for another audit this year and they’ve said that may not come for another 18 months. That wouldn’t mean we stay at level three for this season but next season as well. That’s so disappointing when you’ve got the FA putting all this investment into a review of grassroots football and how you improve. Here you’ve got a club who’s investing money and you don’t allow us the dignity to play against the teams on our level, no wonder English football is struggling. We’re not promising to do things, we’ve actually done them.”
And yet the letter from the Premier League posted above states it's up to the club to request a date for the independent review not fixed by the Premier League.

Cheers boring **** another one on the front line then.

There'll be one bloke who posts on here who will go and protest the rest of you ****ers just type and whine.

Done.

If we needed a pitch, there were and still are other options.

Those people in the arena had a right to be there. If (as now seems unlikely) City had to use that arena, there are ways of doing that, but they involve consultation and support.

Forcing them out like this stinks.
