I've got some great whisky at the moment (recent 50th) but the piece of resistance is a 21 year old Nikka Whiskey that our kid bought me in Japan. Well I say bought. Having looked at it online I assume he either found somewhere there selling it cheap or he nicked it!
I don't care which but I'm not sure I dare open it at the moment !

I've got a 15 year old Dalmore on the go at the moment which was about £50. The Teeling single grain is about £30 and I prefer that to the Dalmore.

I don't know whereabouts you live but it would be well worth driving out to Melton to purchase a bottle.

I find it hard to drink Whiskey.
Honey whiskey I'm fine with but apart from that I can only really Drink Jack Daniels single barrel Rye .
The Holiday Select is really nice but empties your pocket quite quick

Do you mean Cornish Rattler? I think they are selling it in all Morrisons.Got some Thatcher's Vintage, 7.2% ,as well which is very agreeable.

Yes, 6%. Aspall's is nice. Always enjoyed Sheppeys in Devon and Dorset. Another good one was Mortimers Orchard which is owned by Westons. Wish my local sold it on draught.

Going down to Bourton on The Water next month. Lovely place but for some reason none of the pubs there sell it, which is odd as it is brewed by Cotswold Brewery, only seen it in a couple of restaurants.. There are a couple of good breweries in the Cotswolds but all the pubs seem to sell the same bog standard stuff we have up here for some reason.

Just on 4th of the 6 Cornish Rattlers I got today. Will have finished them by then end of I Know Who You Are. Will end up digging out a bottle of gin my lad won in a raffle kast Vhristmas and gave to ne as he doesn't like the stuff.

I was in Hop and Vine on Albion Street last night.
They have a fair few ciders in there.

Nah, I hit wrong keys when I haven't had a drink for weeks.

Trouble is these offers at Morrisons and Aldi are too good. I had knocked off drinking much at home as it is not the greatest path to go down, especially whenyou have an addictive personality and no will power, and at least you could offer the excuse you were socialising down the pub. Nowadays a lot of people my age have stopped going in my local, too many changes of landlord, the price of drink... It tends to be full of young kids who talk very loudly, put crap music on the jukebox and can't take their ale. 3 bottles of Cornish Rattler or Thatchers Vintage or Westons compared to one bottle of Bulmers at £3.45 in the pub surrounded by people you don't know isn't much of a contest. Never thought that would be the situation even a few years ago.
