Is it our fault when other teams can't take advantage when we falter..? Is it Man U's fault that they've kept winning the title over the past 20 years, despite the fact that when they've had a few bad games, others can't take advantage..? No. Somewhere along the line, one has to accept that part of the reason why a team succeeds is because they're better than others, and that doesn't necessarily mean in terms of playing the opposition. It's the ability to keep churning out the 1-0s, the 2-1s, against other teams in good form, when your team is going through a so-so period. If Saints had continued their pre-blip form, they'd be of sight by now. But they didn't. Is that lucky for the opposition or are we lucky that they didn't take advantage..?
You see, it's meaningless. The team that wins the title and/or gets auto-promotion is the one that is consistently better than the others [bar one if in second place, of course]
