Please excuse the spelling Agent Bruce. (I wasn't too sure how it was spelt being a Sicilian-American word, so I just went with phonetics.)
Well obviously the OP was looking for some bites and he got them... but honestly does it not make you Mags die a little inside to see the name being prised off the wall like that? It's pointless trying to come back about SoL name as I've never met a Sunderland fan yet who wanted it or likes it overmuch now... it means nothing to us. I know you can forgive Ashley a lot because the team is doing so well (and, before the mass exodus from these boards at least I'd say the majority of Mags had come round to being neutral-pro Ashley) but photos like that must make you wonder what sort of Faustian pact you've made with this guy.
Doing a good job and is turning fans opinion of him around. I'm sure he only does stuff like this because he prefers being the big hate figure .
Ever since people first wanted to save the name of the ground, opponents have been saying 'It's finacial power gone mad'.
At the end of the day if it helps us do better on the pitch over the next few years this will all be forgotten there will be people who will call St James Park, there will be rival fans (mainly) who will call it whatever name Mike Ashley chooses to call it.
It's definitely not one of Ashleys better schemes, the majority of genuine football supporters thought it was a poor decision, it was announced last year so the eventual removal of the signage has had less impact on me. There's nothing the supporters can do about it, the decision has been made, we have to move on..
Most of the fans from other clubs have said they'll call it by the name they've known it as over the years. Younger fans just coming into the game now may come to call it whatever Ashley chooses but you tend to find that things like this are passed down from generation to generation. It's going to be SJP up here for quite a long time yet.
Well, I suppose if she opened her legs I'd probs give her a quick poke from the back. Ower young though.
