Well Adidas have just cancelled their contract with him. Surely Sunderland have to sack him off, should have done it as soon as the guilty plea became public knowledge. Can't understand why they are holding fire?

They've probably been told to hang fire until the trial is over by their lawyers. If it takes away any possible source of appeal then we should probably be grateful for that.

They will be discussing this with their lawyers and they have to make sure that they do two things:
1. The 'right' thing
2. The legally correct thing.

I wouldn't bet against a lot of midnight oil being spent at their law firm over this matter.

If one is going to cut someone's contract for unacceptable behaviour without the workplace then you have to make sure that you have every legal avenue covered.

There will be far greater implications for Johnson. He'll be on the sex offenders register, will lose his footballing career [who is going to want to employ him?] and if his GF/ Fiancee/ Wife has any sense, she will tell him to do one. Not to mention the fact that he will probably require supervised visits when he sees his child. Despite what people think, the law is a lot tougher on these types of crimes than it once was. He's obviously admitted to the 'lesser' charges in the hope of mitigation. If found guilty of the others though then they will throw the book at him for all 4.

Hahahahaha! Yeah, because she's bound to have been drawn in by his GSOH, honesty and charisma.......she'll "stand by him" til he's out of either 1) prison, or 2) money. Then she'll be off with John O'Shea.

Out of work, soon to be in jail. He's ruined. She'll be off once the money goes

Can't remember if it was on this board or the mackem board I said it (totally lost track over the last two days) but if they have a joint bank account then he might well find the money has run out before the jail cell door has banged shut - and not a thing he can do about it.

The lawyers bill will take care of that for him.

Nev immediately thinking about the money. Sickening.
