Have to wait and see. He's only been arrested at present. Bit of a shocker for your club though. As with all illegal behaviour by players or fans, the club image gets tarnished. Doubly so when its things of this nature.
 
If true then he's finished. We don't know the full story though. Apparently they found a gun in his house too.

To be honest I'd prefer to wait and see the full facts. I don't think it's right that he gets named and shamed publicy when it is meant to be innocent until proven guilty. I also think we need to see whether the accusations turn out to be true, whether he has targeted somebody underage or made the mistake of ending up with an underage girl who was in a club, or whether there is even more to this than meets the eye. The story has already changed once from 14 to 15yr old. There is always a load of speculation around these cases before any facts are actually known.

If he has done it, then he is very stupid, especially in the current climate with all the Jimmy Saville, Gary Glitter and whoever else has been caught up in it. Also point out as I've said before on here and 606 that footballers and famous people get wrongly accussed of this all the time.

I've been trying to think of a funny comeback, but I can't.

It just pisses me off the way that the media frenzy and following public kangaroo courts convict people in public rather than waiting for the facts. I know I'm a bit of a cynic but I can't help thinking a lot of these high profile celebrity cases could well be a distraction from a deeper and worse problem. I also think that the speculation that accompanies cases like this can actually make it more difficult to get to the truth.

Who actually named him? I don't think they should be named unless proven guilty. Its wrong for all parties.

It's a bit sexist isn't it, and I hate it...
But women's rights groups will say that these people have to be named so that women are protected from them, or at least, they would say that, if they weren't too busy making a hash of parking outside <whistle>

To be fair I totally agree with you on this.

A guy about 2 miles from where I live was accused of being a *****phile. Turned out the accuser admitted it was all false in a sad attempt to gain some sympathetic attention - but only after the guy had been brutally beaten by angry locals. He now has permanent disabilities.

Not saying true offenders should be protected but the hysteria that surrounds this type of allegation is very dangerous in a world that doesn't really abide by the innocent until proven guilty approach.

If true then obviously it's plain wrong.

I do think it is bad that these sort of allegations come out so early in the proceedings though. It causes a lot of noise which gets in the way of getting to the right result.

Also as obi mentioned if not true it is hugely damaging to all involved.
