LOL It came up and I didn’t look at the date. I bow to your knowledge of what is going on there. Makes the goings on over here seem straightforward,<laugh>
I am half-Turkish and any Turkish would know Koc family well. What's going on is more fun than Succession TV show in that family.

Exactly as I've been saying it will be.
A rebuild which may take us into the first few games due to the way the market is working.

Those who've peed the bed look pretty stupid today. It was never looking like anything else to me. Acun has learnt lessons and is making sure this time we are stable and signing real quality the manager wants.

I'm not sure that is the case. I haven't peed the bed or defended him but I'm not sure some look 'pretty stupid'.

The situation is unacceptable given we start on Saturday.

Unacceptable to you maybe but you don't own the club or manage the team. It's professional sport and a business that's costing Acun millions. I don't think he cares too much if you still think its unacceptable after he has given a clear and concise explanation for the squad looking a little bit light.

He could have signed 10 players of the quality of Tetteh or Lokilo this summer and some people would be sat predicting we are going to win the league because they've seen their stats from the Bulgarian 3rd division.

The manager wants specific players with no compromise. Acun has learnt to stay quiet and respect the coaches wishes on recruitment. The club has a decent team ready to start the season that will compete with Bristol and plenty of others whilst the final signings are made.

little bit light? Are you for real? Season starts on Saturday, it’s totally unacceptable to be going into the first game with this squad. It’s because the squad is like this that Acun has had to come out and talk!

Unfortunately for you nobody that matters thinks its unacceptable and they will be there on Saturday aiming for 3 points. It's up to you if you want to join them or not. That's the beauty of being a supporter, you can either choose to back the club or not.

Oh but some do though...

We've known all along most of our business would happen later in the window. We've pretty much hit the reset button so there's a lot of work to do, but it's clearly being done.

The situation isn't unacceptable, it literally is what it is and the rationale has been explained as to why it has taken us time on signings. We know we're being picky and looking for better quality generally - players who fit into the playing style, we know we have to clear everything in advance due to FFP restrictions and being monitored closely, we know we had to get players out first due to FFP, we know we had a lot of deadwood and much of it has gone so there's been a big job largely done there first, we know there's cash available but obviously there are FFP restrictions... We've been told all of the above before today.

Some have either forgotten these details, or chosen to ignore them in favour of the more sinister 'the wheels have come off' conspiracy approach, the club are lying to us etc. Some have fully panicked. It is understandable to an extent, because there's a lot to do in a shorter and shorter window of time, but the conspiracy stuff has gone too far recently. Acun did a great job today. The least we can do is get behind them and take his word for it, even if just for the time being until the window shuts and judging it then, rather than assuming it's all PR bollocks and we're not going to make signings, or that the current scenario is unacceptable.

We won't have all, or even most of our incoming business finished 3 weeks before the window closes in time for the first game. We wouldn't even without the rebuild. We could have been two strikers better off by now if they'd not taken other, logical offers. There's a whole cocktail of reasons why more business hasn't been possible yet this summer, but **** it, why look at the factors when it's apparently easier to go with 'unacceptable' and assume the club just hasn't been arsed to bother about it yet.

Just like with everything else around the club, people get an inkling of something, fill in the blanks with assumptions and then roll with it as if it's fact.

I've adlibbed, but these are just a small number of themes on here in the last couple of weeks, stated as if true, when people couldn't possibly know...

'We're not an attractive proposition for players'
'The club is a circus'
'Rosenior was the only pull for players'
'We're not willing to pay going rates'
'There's no plan'
'The club is being mismanaged'
'We're just here to take Fenerbahce cast offs'
'No wonder biscuit man pulled out'
'Ehab's coming back'
'Our season will be over by the end of August'
'There'll be no good loan players'
'We're going to get relegated'
'Acun's lost interest in us now'

Unless you think Acun's talked out of his arse today, which there's no logical reason to believe, then the above all sounds presumptuous at this point, ie; 'pretty stupid'. Time will tell, obviously, but I can't for one minute imagine Acun has made all of that up today - he'd be painting one hell of a target on his back if he has. Look at the bigger picture, not the first couple of games of the season.

You are entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. That's the way it goes.

On radio tonight from a football finance guy that there is a big reduction in transfers and their values because of the restrictions . Also that tobacco advertising has to be gone in two years , and lastly that the really big blue chip companies are not sponsoring - so things will change across the board .

You mean gambling not tobacco?

Acun thinks it's unacceptable, that's why he's now stepping in..

Maribor have Conference League qualifiers this Thursday and next Thursday. I wonder if Acun goes. It was funny when an audience member today said something about Acun looking to buy Maribor and he basically said ‘I’ve already bought it, mate’. I can’t remember any announcement about it being done in any local Hull media.

I have no idea what he said apart from what you and others have reported on here. As I said to JtT. We are all entitled to an opinion. I'm not looking to argue or debate with anyone. It just so happens my opinion might be a little different to yours, his or anyone's really.

And with all due respect, I don't need a list of what has been done, needed to be done or is being done. I can work it all out for myself.

Good post.
Wasted on the authors of those quotes though.
