Aaron Wilbraham

Wilbo has certainly enjoyed a renaissance at Brizzle, credit to him. I understand when he was without a club he bumped into Steve Cotterill who was their manager at the time, asked for a trial, said he was available, the rest as they say is history. As for suggesting he's right for us now is a joke surely?

Mark Noble was one of the worst loanees we ever had.

I'm not saying Albie is any good or worth considering, just you can never tell. Some players are ****e and then become great.
He never got a run though did he.
Delaney and Walters where considered ****e here but have done well for themselves

| don't consider Delaney or Walters as ****e. Delaney played his part in our rise from the basement division and it just didn't work out here for Walters for a variety of reasons

Both Walters and Damo would get in our team today for me!

He's scored 28 in 95 for Bristol, a decent enough return for a player of his type- but the point was not so much his goals but the type of player he is who holds the ball up and gets stuck in to the big central defenders.

Chuba and Akpom just bounce off em, and we lose the ball.

He won't be signed again but we needed a player in his mould this season.

So you think you know better than Steve Bruce?

With regards Chuba and Akpom, I'd much sooner have either of them than ****ing Wilbraham.

Exactly. There seems to be a rewriting of history going on - I only recall people being very positive about Walters at the time.

Same for Damo. Although the sheep who knew nothing about football made the noise, everyone I knew really rated him.

A late developer - didn't play in the PL till he was over 30, and having left us for DQPR he went on to ITFC and didn't really establish himself at Championship level where he struggled at first. We got Wayne Brown and Michael Turner in our defence, and they got us up.
Fair play to him for maturing late and and carving out a place in a PL team.

He only ever started two Premier League games for Norwich and one for Palace, that's hardly 'carving out a place in a PL team'.

Walters never really got a fair crack.

When Burgess got injured he was the perfect replacement with his work rate to play alongside Allsopp. Instead Taylor played Facey and Wilbraham.

Delaney was a miles better player once he moved from LB to CB and John Anderson left. Anderson used to leave him exposed all the time.

I was sad to see both of them go.

Delaney was a lot of fans fall guy.

Because they were idiots who followed the vocal minority rather than actually watching the game. I remember posting on HC Online (I think) after the game when he was reduced to tears that I wouldnt be surprised if he won PotY the following seson. He was mighty close.

That goal vs Rochdale was a turning point for a lot of the mindless twats.

I thought Delaney was excellent, I couldn't understand why we didn't fight to keep him more. Walters was also pretty decent, I'm surprised he has to drop as far down as he did to get his career going.

Delaney has come on as a player since he left us, you don't usually get players in their 30's playing their best football, he's a late bloomer football wise but always had the right attitude. Clucas is a similar kind, not defensive as such but a player with all the right attributes who is improving at a rate of knots at the age of 25
