a fans opinion of a player being **** at a particular time is just that, an opinion based on playing performance. a fans opinion of future potential is different, as we are trying to guess if they will improve or not, and we are all guilty of having opinions that turn out wrong, as some players improve and some don't, i for one thought T Henry was utter ****e when i first saw him, and i thought WTF have we bought him for. low and behold "all time leading goal scorer" later it seems my first opinion was wrong !!

current form is not always a guide, remember that form is temporary and class is permanent

You've been wrong about a load of things as well, so don't see why you want to seem so smart now by telling Arsegun he was supposedly wrong?

Not only have you been proven wrong, but your incorrect theories have been utter delusions, like saying Arsenal would win the title last year, that RVP wouldn't replicate the same form for United, the list goes on and on, people need to just go through your posts to see the amount of bat **** insane posts you make, another fine example is when you said the penalty against us VS Sunderland was soft.

It's like a creationist telling a scientist he's wrong about God because one of the scientist's theories has been proven wrong. This happens despite the scientist having looked at the situation objectively before making a realistic conclusion.

Ramsey was playing awful for a long time and didn't look like improving. Conclusions based on that observation were reasonable. A crusade from a whackjob with a two-year-old chip on his shoulder won't change that.

He predicted we'd win it this season as well. There's nothing wrong with a little optimism now and then, but he has a screw lose.

    Hmm Na.

He'll be a quality player no doubt but not quite that level.

    Wilshere though probably will.(injuries permitting)

But yeah, I'm happy he's proving the doubters wrong.

I think Ramsey's got more to his overall game than Bale. Bale is quicker and better at shooting, but Ramsey is good going forward too and his volley against Sunderland showed that he has got a sweet strike and can create goals from nothing. Where Ramsey excels though is in his overall MF play, he has a great pass, good vision, helps to move the ball forward and also tracks back and makes important tackles. It's this that will make Ramsey the more versatile player and ultimately having more of an impact than Bale.

He does but that's not what defines being a great player.

There are some 'great players'' who were rather one dimensional when you think about it

In terms of 'impact' Bale scored 25 goals and had 11 assists last Season. Where would Tottenham have been without him? 6th?..7th?..possibly even 8th.

He's also capable of bettering those Numbers (I could realistically see Bale scoring 30-35 goals from a wide position) so despite Ramsey's great form I cant see him having as big an impact for Arsenal.

Who knows though, If Ramsey starts getting 10-15 goals and 20-25 assists then we can talk about him realistically bettering Bale.

Bale was playing as a second striker for Spurs, pushed forward even more than a #10. Ramsey is playing as one of the 2 midfielders in what everyone seems to be calling a double-pivot these days. I'm not sure that you can expect the same numbers going forward as Bale when Ramsey has so much more responsibility when the ball is coming back the other way.

I think it will be very difficult to compare the two. It is always very difficult to rate a player's defensive contribution.

Yep, maybe 'more well rounded' is a more accurate description than 'better' player.

So you're assuming when he was rubbish for ages that was 'form', but now he's been good for not such a long time that's 'class'?

For all you know his natural 'class' could be to be rubbish, but that he's just having a temporary period of great form? ;)

Let's not get carried away with Ramsey. He's a good player in some good form, let him get a few seasons under his belt playing at a significantly higher level before comparing him to Bale. Bale is one of the best players in the world, Ramsey isn't one of the best midfielders in the Prem, let alone for Arsenal.

    Ozil > Cazorla > Arteta > Wilshere > Rosicky > Ramsey > Flamini

On current form Ramsey is surpassed only by Ozil and maybe Santi, he's been the best midfielder in the Prem this season. And its just not this season, after the mid-way point of last season he was playing quality as well.

I'm referring to ability and not on form. He might be one of the best midfielders on form, but isn't one of the best midfielders in the Premiership. He does not exceed any of the mentioned players ability at present. Rosicky in his prime was an excellent player and has consistently shown that he can still do a job. Arteta is one of our most important players at present and he was key in us getting 4th last season. Wilshere is going through a lean patch but ability wise, is the best English player coming through. I will reserve judgement on Ramsey until the end of the season and refrain from calling him "one of the best". To be that, you have to do it at a consistent level, over the course of the season and not a few games.

If we are talking 'ability' I would go...

    Ozil > Cazorla > Wilshere > Arteta > Rosicky > Ramsey > Flamini >A potato >Nicholas Bendtner

    Hahahaha. According to Bendtner its:

Bendtner >>>>>>>>> The Rest not worth considering

Oh and I agree with your list but switching Wilshere for Rosicky maybe.
