When you said, "The point is that Ramsey never looked like becoming a good player..." You were wrong.

He did look like becoming a good player and enough people could see it, to make your judgement faulty. Now stop lying as well.

But he didn't. That leg break, followed by Speed's death, seemed to ruin him, and for a long time, it looked like he was a championship player at best, especially when he flopped when on loan at Notts. Forest.

Personally, I thought that those saying he would never make it Arsenal have clearly been proved wrong, but more important than that is the fact that he's playing really well for us and I'd just rather that we could celebrate that that trying to score points about who was right and wrong. <ok>

Sorry, but when spastics like TT have the cheek to turn this into a personal triumph, it needs a reply.

It should be considered a club triumph (Ramsey's not ****, that's a victory), but TT is using this as some sort of BS crusade.

Well with a response like that it's hardly going to depersonalise it <laugh>

No, I was not making this a personal triumph. It's just when you and the other cretins still insist you were right in your judgement that he was ****, or try to say that you only did it to inspire him to play better, I am going to call you out for being idiots.

Plenty of sensible adults have come on here and said they were wrong and there is no issue.

Kyle, you did actually admit that you got it wrong about Ramsey. I thought that was pretty decent to do. It was the comment from somebody else about the fans saying he was **** that 'lit a fire under his ass' that inspired him to play better that is BS.

Wilshere has not played particularly well since his return from injury but he doesn't get the abuse that was given to Ramsey.Ramsey suffered a terrible injury and on his return was played out of position on occasion. It took him a while to return to his best form and frankly some of the abuse he took was disgusting

He's starting too.

Just wait if he has another bad 2-3 weeks fans will be saying he was always over-rated because he's English. blah blah blah..

Wilshere has World Class ability. The issue with him recently is purely fitness and a need for gametime.

I admitted i was wrong you bellend, most of us admitted we were wrong. The problem is that instead of realising this, you use it as a chance to claim a personal triumph that you were "right all along", which you weren't, because your defence of Ramsey was misplaced.

You defended him out of personal hope rather than common sense.

Was that Arsenal87? Anyway, I don't know why you and TT are trying to take the highground on that. Wasn't it one of you that claimed the criticism was making him play badly? Criticism is not inherently good or bad, though sportsmen and women usually respond by trying even harder to get things right. Have you ever met a sportsman with a defeatist attitude?

I'm not taking the highground at all, read back a few comments and you'll see where I said that we should just be celebrating him playing well for Arsenal, rather than trying to score points against each other. I have no idea who said that the criticism made him play badly.

...because your defence of Ramsey was misplaced.

How the hell do you work that out?

My defence of Ramsey was very well-placed. The reason why this is continuing is because you (and others) still continue to insist that I was wrong in defending him, which seems idiotic to me.

Unfortunately, in this age of mass Internet stupidity, common sense is an oxymoron.

To me it seems criticising a player is fine when he is playing bad, just as it is important to compliment him when he is playing good. Everyone and their mothers is throwing their ego's into this debate which is why it is being blown out of proportion.

Just because a player heals physically does not mean he has healed mentally. I'm sure any top sportsman who has suffered a bad injury let alone the one Ramsey had to endure will tell you the same. That tackle by Shawcross broke his tibula and fibula. Of course he was going to be mentally scarred. To come back and compete at the top level for a club like ours is a miracle it itself. I think some fans have been unnecessarily hard on him but at the same time it was a time of frustration for us all. Understanding went out of the window and it was replaced buy abuse. I like Ramsey and always wanted him to come back. I never wanted to sell him because I remember the player he was before that sad day on 24th jan 2010. He has shown signs of becoming that player again but the mental side of his game was still fragile. Now I believe this is the season he will prove himself. One more thing to add. It's one hell of an inspiration when your fellow countryman and good friend is currently the most expensive player in the world and firing goals in for Real Madrid. In Bale maybe Aaron has seen what it takes not just physically but mentally. I wish him all the best and wether he proves fans wrong or not its more important for him to play to the best of his ability and with confidence. That's when we will see the best of the lad.
