Crikey, this Ramsey debate just keeps on trucking.
It's interesting that some think he is brilliant and has had a good season. I would suggest that this view is an over reaction to defend Ramsey against others' overly negative view.
Ramsey has had a poor season overall, but he did indeed play better against Wolves. Whilst he has talent I don't think we can say whether he will ever be 'great'. Those that argue that he will be great in two years are not really doing anything other than saying they hope so - they can't possibly know. I think every Gooner on this board would hope he becomes great - and it is possible.
As I said I do think Ramsey has the talent, but there is a reason he is getting stick (some of it unfairly). It's because he is one of our weakest players this year.
Piskie - not a dig - but passing accuracy on it's own as a stat means nothing. Denilson has great passing stats (best in the league during his time here - or close to it). He is however not going to ever make it at Arsenal.
I would send Ramsey out on loan and let him get regular first team football, score a few goals, prove himself, and get his confidence back. Let him learn without weakening our first team.

Aye It was only in response to saying he always gives the ball away and has forgotten how to pass.
I think we all pretty much agree that he's a player who could be a big name at Arsenal.

I don't think Ramsey had a good game, but assuming he did, I don't think it works in his favour, we had the game won in 11 minutes, we were playing a terrible Wolves side that had lost 6 in a row (we made it 7), they are relegation material, and just to make it better, they were down to 10 men, the game was well and truly over. It was really more like an exhibition game than a proper PL match, if you were at the game you would appreciate that point much more, it was well and truly like an exhibition game with the atmosphere of their crowd etc, so Ramsey doing good in a game like this really says a lot then doesn't it? And not in a good way! In other words, Ramsey will have a good performance against a completely sh!t side that's reduced to 10 men!
And I must say again, I thought he had another sh!t performance, with another easy chance wasted, look at how Benayoun scored, and Ramsey had an easier chance and completely wasted it, just like he did against City, and Everton away.
The chance wasn't easy, the keeper was right on top of him. He didn't make a bad effort at it. Certainly not the worst miss of the three.

Only reason for it was to rest Rosicky or that he was carrying a knock. Until we secure 3rd or are winning a game comfortably should Ramsey be coming on. I understand we need to keep Ramsey playing but not at the risk of losing 3rd. We don't want unneccessary Champions league qualification!
I think we are talking about different misses. I was talking about the wolves game. The City miss was worse but there is no way he should have passed to RVP. I think you are one of the first to complain about us trying to pass it into the net, he was absolutely in the best place to put it away. That is why it was a bad miss. I am afraid he made a golfer's mistake and lifted his head.
90% passing backwards, forward passes misplaced, kicking the ball out of play, terrible shooting. And it was all against a 10-man defeated Wolves team. That will make anyone look good. You know I'm not a Ramsey hater from my previous posts, but don't try to tell me he's improving on the basis of that performance. The opposition made him look slightly better is all.

exactly. He was always a great prospect - he's had great games.
Recently he was put in a stress situation and he has lost form. I'd rather he was rested, if possible thru' to the next season.
I'm confident he will become very good again. But keeping playing him is more likely to do harm at the moment.

Ramsey might be good...just not for arsenal. He slows the game down too much. Takes a ton of touches, runs into dead ends and doesnt have any pace or creativity.
No coincidence that our good form started when ramsey got injured and wenger was forced to start rosicky.
