Yes, that's a great quote, they also used to say if you couldn't get to the game, you could hear Big Dunc shouting from Wroxham!<laugh>

Remember big Dunc flattening Kevin Keegan at CR with a tackle that can best be described as .... "agricultural" - a challenge like that nowadays would get you a gaol sentence for attempted murder.

I'd say that Norman Hunter and Ron Harris had better claims to that accolade, nevertheless, he'll always have a place in Ipswich Demonology...

Saying that, Big Al and Beats were no shrinking violets and Derek Jefferson liked to put his foot in....

Just going back to Tony Powell. I'm quite sure he once decked Stan Bowles. Can any of you older guys remember that or am I going senile.

His brother was Carl Grapes, we were at the same school, same year and same football team, although can't say we were friends. that does seem so long ago.
Just been watching old videos of city in the 80's and 90's, we really played some excellent football !!!!!

Then f**k me we must know each other. I am still in touch with my best friend from all those years ago, lives in Drayton, Patrick Holmes:emoticon-0100-smile:emoticon-0100-smile

Was it the Lilly Langtry? Spent many an evening in the place when I lived on Unthank Road.

I think I know who you mean, bloody hell small world eh ? Unfortunately I've lost touch with all my friends from way back then :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Although the pub was later re-named 'the lilly langtry', I think it was 'the unthank tavern' at the time <ok>

    Normal for Norfolk <laugh>

My wife got chatting with my aunt (by marriage and much younger than my uncle) anyway turns out they both grew up in Cambridge and went to the same schools and colleges at slightly different times and then both ended up living in rural Norfolk and both ended up marrying into our family. They pointed out people they both know on school photos <laugh>

I think that was correct Vectis - Powell took objection to the fact that Bowles had a girlier hairstyle than him and was using Cossack hairspray to keep it in place.
