Gravy under the fish is the same as gravy on the fish. Both should carry some kind of prison sentence.

Used to sometimes get a special from there: pattie, chips, peas and a breadcake for 50p

It was my favourite. I used to set off an hour early from Cambridge before a City game just to get my Fish and Chips from Harry's. He was a good jolly guy too Pauline always used to give the kids free pop and a lolly, she had a camera rigged up so he could watch the shop from his sick bed after his stroke. He died a few years ago now. Large fish used to hang of the end of your plate.

Went to Sewerby a couple of years back for Large Haddock, Pattie & Chips & then had the same from Cave Street on the way back home. Just from recommendations off here.
