Bit hard for me being 2000 miles away, but i won't get upset if you take it on. Seeing as you won't be spending any more time at the KC arranging the big banners.

There's a shame.

I've plenty on right now. Who knows what the next step will be?

There's liable to be plenty of options in the short term, I'm not really sure why you think that about the banners, but you could be right, maybe it'll be someone else sorting those.
Some others being considered could be larger than the banners we've had, but that's all for the future, and I doubt I'll need to be involved.

It's food for thought in the future though, cheers. <ok>

This one, where we went with the concensus on the current design.

http://www.not606.com/threads/a-flag-poll.288800/page-15

I'm confused; not for the first time. <laugh>

How was the consensus reached?

All voted for and decided by people on this board. The club has no 'need' to be involved, but still will be.

The vote had nothing to do with these banners/flags. Was this the vote you are talking about? The thread I did not post on, as I said.

http://www.not606.com/threads/the-second-banner-donations-thread.296121/

That's what we're in the throws of trying to decide. It's why I asked for views. I'm happy to go with the concensus, but personally favour something portable for these so we can have more choice. Hopefully they'l be complimented by later schemes if the will is still there.

This was post 260 on the link you provided; could you show which of the following 30 posts gave you the consensus on size and text? I don't wish to inconvenience you, nor am I suggesting anything inappropriate has been claimed, as I know you do this in your spare time and your efforts are very much appreciated. <ok>

It's all very free and easy. Suggestions were made, those that replied mainly supported it, and that was taken as a concensus.

Hardly robust and scientific I know, but it's the same pragmatic style used for the others, so the assumption is people are okay with it.

Ultimately, the test is if people want to support it by donating, which so far seems to be going well, with other pledges coming in off the board. I'm optimistic we could get two or three.

Cheers for your thoughts, it's good of you to take the time. It's all good food for thought for next time.

Right now, I need to crack on with a few things for this set. <ok>

The next steps will be the fans sorting it out for themselfs paying for, producing and displaying flags within the existing rules and regs.
I have read your posts following all your visits to the KC and from those i understand there are no more places available to put more big banners, the two we have are displayed as best as they can but not ideal. ( hope everyone sits down so we can see them )
I presume that if there is to be an even bigger banner it would have to be passed over the crowd as fixing it to the stadium could cause it to fall down.
The others getting involved won't be ordinary fans as it seems as they don't have the required qualifications, degrees in structural engineering, health and safety qualifications etc.

And the really sad part is that the club could have made an effort to rebuild bridges with the fans but they missed the boat .

Thanks; so it would appear you accept I was not a party to the discussions on this particular banner project. I do think your use of consensus is somewhat ambitious; there were a few posts that might have touched on it, but I am buggered if I can find that many posts that made definite opinion on text and content, certainly not a consensus as I did not see the points being sought out.

To be fair, it is a great idea and I am not knocking it, even though you appear to have done the sensible thing and made a decision and driven it forward off a very limited feedback. I appreciate the time you have taken to do this and I appreciate your need to get back to doing other things - I don't need to know what they are. Maybe you might consider that the volunteers of HCST might also need to adopt similar tactics to those used by you.

You must have missed the posts about the advertising being under review. The banner space is restricted now, but may not be in the future. No boats have being missed, as far as the club is concerned we are welcome aboard.

You keep coming out with these marvellous outpourings of knowledge and insider understanding of how the club is thinking. I think I will wait and see what the advertising review brings to the table, as there are too many assumptions forming. The banner space was always restricted and will be in the future. As far as the club welcoming us aboard, can you tell me on what terms that is, as your recent posts keep hinting at some inside information?

Fez, I appreciate you have questions, and it's great to chew them over, but can you pop them on another thread? This one's for donations for the current banners and some people are having a problem doing that.

It'd be easier for them if they didn't have to pick through what's liable to be a long discussion to do that.

Thanks in anticipation of your understanding. <ok>

See, there you go again. making assumptions. If I need to ask questions to qualify any donation I might or might not make then I will do so and this seems an appropriate thread for that. Your post is very selective, as all of mine, except, to a point, the post to TOM, are directly relevant to the thread topic, whereas there are others that are nothing more than banter, so perhaps if you refrained from taking part in and encouraging those conversations, the board would flow nicely. <ok>

Of course you are right, Fez, I have had nothing to do with the banners and flags, I make it all up as I go.

There you go the answer that you wanted.

But, is it the truth. Or could I have been involved but did not want to make a big deal of it.

Mind you I might just be a self important fantasist, eh.

So how is the club thinking, have told you they will allow The name they want to change legally and are removing by stealth? Is it a conscious decision to avoid asking the question? What is the reason for the advertising review; was it space, site cost adjustments, complaints that some, like the banners are not great, or is it something else? If you don't know the answers that's fine, it just that you are posting as if you might.
Anyway congratulations on achieving your aim of assisting Assem Allem in furthering his strategy of removing all reference to Hull City AFC from the stadium, it appears to be a job well done with what looks like a 20 - 30 banner project. I am sure he will be very grateful to the hooligans for financing his cause.

20 or 30? Given current issues and finances, that'd be great. I think three plus the existing two is more achievable though.

I'm a tad confused though. You say you don't want us to do any banners at all at the moment, yet seem intent on suggesting how these banners we're not having should look and be positioned?

You say you'd support it, IF it had Hull City AFC on it, and you seem clear on how that should look.

Well, your wish is my command. Either alone or with others, you send the cash, we'll provide a banner, and the Club will let it in the ground.

If you'd rather not be seen in any way linked to the spirit of the banners from this board, I can highly recommend http://www.barmyflags.co.uk/.

I look forward to seeing it. The more the merrier. <ok>

Just.

****.

Off.

How anyone can see anything negative in what Dutch along with a few others has achieved is baffling in the extreme.

We get it, you have a *thing* for Dutch, but this obsession is getting tedious now.

I don't want to speak for Fez he will be along shortly But i don't think ayone is critising Dutch or Mauled or anyone else for the work they have freely contributed. The critisism is and should be aimed at the club.

And people are perfectly entitled to do that, however, it's better done on a separate thread, it's not as if we're not spoiled for choice.

This thread is for donations to support some goodwill from the fans to the players, past and present that have been outstanding for Hull City Football Club.

As far as the topic of this thread goes, the criticism is unwarranted, as the club have been very supportive of the initiative. Believe me, I'd shout if they weren't.

Your quite right about this being the donations thread and its got a bit off track. There are as you say a number of other flag / banner threads ( you started most of them ) however people will respond to a post and off it goes on a tangent. We are all as guilty as each other for that. Not sure how or even if it can be tidied up now many threads with so many pages.

What the **** are you on!

You constantly put two and two together and make the answer fit whatever way you want it to. My involvement in the banners is **** all to do with you or anyone other than those others involved. Of course I know what is going on, because unlike you, I got off my arse and helped out.
