I am willing to bet with any person on this board that we take 4 points off you this year. I am struggling to think of a worse unit than the team I saw today. MON doesn't have a clue, and that is coming from me who was really pissed off when you got him thinking he was in the top 3 in the league. **** changes, no plan B, couldn't motivate the players. McClean, flash in the pan. Sessegnon, wants out. Johnson, 2 years of reserve football has ****ed him, not the same player. John O'Shea, past it. Rose, Mignolet, Fletcher the only players in your team that even deserve a mention, all 3 were fantastic even though Fletcher could do very little due to the absolute ****e behind him. We will beat you at SJP, no doubt about that.

We're two points behind you with a game in hand at reading. If we're as bad as you say we are you need to worry about yourselves as well.

I'll take that bet. £1000 says you won't take 4 points of us this year

And yet if we had played and won our game against Reading we would be above you in the table. Surely the Barcelona of NE1 would be far higher than lowly Sunderland?

I think you need to remember we've played Man Utd, Chelsea (away), Spurs, Everton (away). So half our games have been against teams that will almost certainly be in the top 7/8.

Fair enough, I was only saying that he shouldn't be calling us an "embarrassment" when his own team aren't in that much of a better position. We were abysmal today and your lot would've just about deserved it if you had won, but when potentially the only thing stopping us from being in a higher league standing is a typical rainy day in August, I think such arrogance and gloating as from the OP is a bit premature.

I agree that to say it's certain we'll be you at home is a bit naive, who's to say we won't have players missing, dodgy decisions could go against us etc. Add to that the fact you are almost certain to play better than you did today, anything can happen in a one off game and I'd certainly wouldn't be looking to take such a bet.

We were the better team today, but that doesn't mean we don't need to step it up a gear either, both teams have been average this season for the majority of it.

When do we play them again lads? would that be next year so top tear toon you owe marcus a grand over to you.
By the way we were ****e awful crap whichever way you say it, things can only get better for us hopefully.

Agreed, it's far too long away until the next derby to make predictions. For some reason we often tend to perform better at SJP, I think our historically poor home record against you, coupled with the massive pressure our fans put on the players, make some of our lads try too hard and lose their heads a bit in the home fixtures.

I also think you will generally perform better away from home this season anyway. O'Neill is a counter attacking manager, it suits your style for teams to attack you, I think for this reason the game at SJP will be a much better spectacle (fingers crossed).

Yeah I'd agree with that, I just wish Sess, Johnson and McClean would sort their heads out and start performing because they are all good players who could work in a counter attacking team, but so far we're yet to see that this season.
