Looking at the respective fixtures, even if Pompey get a draw against us on Saturday they will then be huge favourites to finish above us.

    Portsmouth v Bury
    Charlton v Blackburn

We need the win at Fratton Park.

In your absence last night I was forced to assume emergency Mod powers (like a cloak) and give Elfs an “orange” via DM.
Persistent degradation of threads on this site :emoticon-0148-yes:. He sh1t himself & pleaded with me.

Kenny Jackett has a good record against us, but then again so has any one who has managed Millwall.

Sorry to piss on people's chips, but I still can't see us getting in the Play Offs. I think we will lose against Portsmouth and Blackburn. Which will render the Rochdale result academic.

    My team for Portsmouth -

    Amos
    Da Silva
    Konsa
    Pearce
    Bauer
    Aribo
    Reeves
    Kashi
    Fosu
    Magennis
    Mavidi

This XI is easily good enough to go to Portsmouth and get a win ...if they have got the same passion and hunger as our fans have <whistle>

Stay strong Dick, don't let the flip flop brigade(current membership of one) get to you.

    Boro 1/4 finals
    Forest, yellow away day 2000
    Blackburn, Operation Ewood

All games with a big following and high expectation, 1 draw and two defeats.

I'm not looking forward to tomorrow.

Mr van Gerwen is going down in this.

Instead of a betting shop, coffee and cigar, he's off to Gunwharf Quays to replace his blue suit.

A very accommodating chap, he is taking orders for anybody that wants stuff brought back.

By the way Elf, I've never heard of a "9 pointer" before.
Can I assume this is a new example of football hyperbole in the same mould as players praised for giving "110%" or even "200%" effort?

On TalkSport the other day I heard a pundit (might have been Jamie Carragher, bless him) describing a the quality of a goal as "beyond world class".

None of us fans are overly blessed in that department.
Leaving the politics aside and enjoying what we have in common, I find them to be a likeable bunch on the whole. Indeed I am one of them.
One day the Charlton fans on CL, ITTV and Not606 will all come together for a great big group hug.

    It is a dream I have <hug>

For anyone making the journey tomorrow...

    NICE PUBS:
The rutland arms (behind the lidl on francis avenue) - does a nice drop of cider.

Staggeringly Good Brewery (next to the staduim on rodney road) - dinosaur themed craft ales.

Good companion - on eastern rd, family friendly.

    AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE:
    the shepards crook
    The froddington
    - both are not away fan friendly.

    LOCAL WETHERSPOONS (for elf)
John Jacques - not a bad little boozer, but i am biased as i used to work there.

    FOOD -
any of the stalls do a decent burger.
The kfc is shocking beyond belief.
Some really nice restaurants up on albert rd for anyone wandering off the beaten track to the ground.

    PARKING-
Is horrendously bad in the southsea area, and they will clamp your car in the tesco or b&q carparks. You also cannot buy alcohol in the tesco and hour before or after the match.

Hope this helps. Looking forward to trying to spot a few of you there. I'll be in the 2008 home kit!

My best guess is Wooperts-Duck will be there..................I might turn up in spirit with a prayer mat as well but I can't promise. I'd also guess that the last thing either side wants in this one is a draw. My third guess is that at least 10,000 greens hope it is. Whether we make it or not my only wish is that out of all of the other teams please God don't let it be Steve Evans.

    nearly forgot...........Amen.

Well, thank you sensiblegreeny, yes I will be there ! By the way greeny have you really got 10,000 fans ? Only, quite a few of them seemed to leave early when we played you at Home Park recently - was there a fire alarm activated ? <whistle> :)

Take heart from a game I went to at Fratton Park on (just checked with my Colin Cameron) 27/1/76. We won 3-0, after drawing 1-1 at the Valley in the FA Cup. The 3rd goal is one that still stands out in my memory. It was scored by George Hope, normally a very poor player, who suddenly beat 2 defenders before rounding the goalie and slotting it in. The others were scored by Powell and Flanagan.
