I never know with Charlton but to have any chance in play offs I think we need to be mentally strong after beating the remaining opposition ,not get into play offs by other teams mishaps
We are where we are. Can't influence this game, but the result of it can influence where we might finish. We did not want it that way, but that's the way it is. I'll take a Blackburn win if they can do it. Whether we like it or not some other games like this one are important to us.
Yeah agree with you but it’s now like a cup run - if you want to win it you’ve got to be prepared to beat everyone in your path
Game on! Blackburn have equalised, now let's hope for a complete turnaround (though even a draw would be a decent result for us). It's a good game though, I don't think it will finish 1-1.
Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Peterborough United Rovers have turned it around, in a pretty decent game which isn't quite over yet. Hope they can see it through now... EDIT: 3-1 in the final seconds, the perfect result for Charlton tonight
Full time 3-1 Rovers. Peterborough 4 points behind us with 3 games left each. Fat Steve Evans has had his chips.
"Fat Steve Evans has had his chips" If only that were true permanently...............I absolutely hate that lying cheating scumbag. Good result for all of the teams around the 5 and 6 spot tonight. Saturday could be a defining day for a few clubs. If Peterborough don't win their next game then I think with only 2 games they will have left they will be too far adrift. So could be one less team in the mix. Sadly they don't have a game then.
There are four teams in the race for two play-off places now. I still think 5th place has Plymouth's name on it - so it's Charlton, Portsmouth or Scunthorpe trying to squeeze into that last spot. Peterborough now need to beat Shrewsbury in their next game and hope several other results go their way. It might happen for them, but I doubt it now.
Powerhouse Charlton?..... but I have always liked Kenny Kenny Jackett has described Charlton as a powerhouse - ahead of their vital visit to Fratton on Saturday. He warned they would give his side a tough test as two teams both chasing a play-off spot went head to head. Jackett told the club website in his Thursday press briefing: 'They’re one of the powerhouse sides in this division and, like us, will have had aspirations of finishing in the top six all season. We’ll respect Charlton because they have many strengths, although we have to get our own game right. 'Both sides have been there or thereabouts right the way through the campaign, so we need to get our best form together.' Jackett said Pompey now had to aim to win their final three games - after defeat at Bradford on Tuesday left them with a battle on their hands to stay involved in the race. He told the website: 'We’ve got a target of nine points against Charlton, Bury and Peterborough – we are capable of going on that run. That would take us to 72 points, which is around where the play-off points tally usually starts. Whether that will be enough, I don’t know.'
Noticed that Portsmouth have Bury after us. That is a gimme so all the more reason for us to not lose tomorrow.
