I had assumed that there were two reasons for PP being appointed.

The first being that he was the cheapest, feasible option available . The other that he would know the league and the p!ayers in it, and be able to pick up a decent forward none of us knew about that would get a few goals. Many of the teams we will play will have just such a player.

He should give Mick Mac a ring and ask him who he thinks might make it from the unknown crop. MM always had a good eye for players from nowhere .

I always notice when he’s on commentary he knows a lot of players to this day. Not just your big names he just deals off info about just about anyone.

Always quite impresses me.

A stat on Twitter.

[HASHTAG]#SAFC[/HASHTAG] ‘strikers’: Grigg 5 in 42 Wyke 9 in 58 Graham 1 in 39 (two spells) O’Brien 0 in 3 15 goals in 142 games.

If true that is absoutely horrific.

Think it's a bit unfair to include Graham's first spell here. Mind, that's still 15 goals in about 100 games which is still ****e but that is down to Wyke and Grigg being really poor. At least Graham got into positions to score yesterday, just hope with a bit more match fitness he'll put a few away.

Fair enough that. I'd say Graham is the best we have. But he's 35 and never been a high scorer anyway.

I see a lot of fans shouting for Diamond and Neil.
I reckon they will get their chance when Parkinson and his staff think they are ready as they are the ones who see and work with the lads every training session
