I know, I hate all the plastics glory hunters we get now.

In 1982 our ground couldn't hold anywhere near 52,000, poor effort.

Simple simon proves the easiest to trip up.
Again.
Strange days.
I was at this match! The season was all but over , it was the old second division and we had finished i think 5th missing out on promotion. Thatcher had introduced "members" only and the ground was fenced in. It was also raining. Quite frankly we did well to get 9419!! Capacity was 34,000.
By the way....three weeks later we signed ...............Kevin Keegan!
Good post Trev, too many exclamation marks for my liking, but i like the effort.
If all else fails, blame Thatcher or the weather, then mention a messiah to cheer yourself up a bit at the end.
