Hell of a good footballer though. Wish he was fit myself, each to their own though I suppose.

If someone gets caught out it's usually him. He's a bit like Nyron except without Nyron's fantastic ability not to let ****-ups phase him at all.

What do they mean, I'm really not sure.

These armbands aren't LGBTQ+ as far as I know.
Sorry mate, missed this at the time.

My understanding is there is the pride flag armband. This is what I have given to my soccer school kids as a means to generate some conversation in families, should parents want to of course. These are very much in direct support of LGBTQ, as are the rainbow laces etc.

The OneLove armband is a more general anti-discriminatory statement, as I understand it. There is a rainbow inside the heart, although not the exact pride one. My understanding this is because FIFA / uefa have previously blocked the use of the pride rainbow in European games (I might be wrong but I think Bayern Munich were blocked from doing something). So not the exact LGBTQ colours, but a pretty clear symbol of support in my opinion.

Last world cup for Messi and Ronaldo. Who will come out on top I wonder.

Also Neuer, Modric, Benzema, Lewandowski. I hope they all sign off with a bit of style, but in glorious defeats to England of course.

Thomas Muller will still be going strong in 2026 though <laugh>

Have just seen our first game is a 1pm ko, OK for us non workers.
Sons school allowing those that have a good school mark to watch the game live in the main hall while the rowdy bunch have lessons. Tough lesson at an early age, mind you remember a game at Roker early afternoon on a school day and there was a few truants

Oh dear! Oh dear oh dear oh dear!!! Giving the World Cup to these is looking more and more idiotic, they defintely want their money's worth!

You could just not make it up..

Non-footballing country, bribes FIFA officials to get the tournament held in their country.

It is still too hot to play there..in November

Splits the European season in half..

Lots of workers die building the stadium

Very few hotels etc and very expensive to go there

Pay individuals to cheer teams, as not many supporters there

Do not be gay, jail or death

No alcohol

So called icons take Qatar money, Beckham, Neville etc... hypocrites

I will still watch England of course... but not happy about it.

Ps just imagine all the empty and decaying stadia in a few months time... what a waste of money. All Qatar will have achieved after splurging billions is ridicule!
