Not been to Margate in a long while. Pretty shhite these days, but nicer the area around by the Gallery. Can't remember much about Minnis for some odd reason, that will be Birchington area. Go 20 mins further on, nice place called Joss Bay. Boozer up the top. Go check out the Spoons on the Beach in Ramsgate bro. <laugh>

Used to go to Bem Bom brothers as a yoot. Catch the train down from London Bridge to Margate and spend the day in the arcades trying to chat up girls who were too old for me <laugh>

I love swimming, a lot, but like I just get over the idea of under the water something is watching me.
I hear ya. I'm that plus I know I can't swim further than 120m without drowning

What's at Joss Bay?

Nowt, fooking nice and peaceful, pub up the top and cove/beach at the bottom. But kids are off, so that's the peace fooked.

Yeah I know of Monkton, nowt more than that. If you go into Ramsgate, where the Spoons by the harbour/beach is all the beer will be cheap around there and a chippy across the road.

I used to know a bloke down here who had one of those little ****ing put-put boats with a small outboard and little cabin over. He used to go over to the Isles of Scilly on his own in it. No radio, no radar, nothing. It's a 29 mile stretch from Land's End across some of the most treacherous currents, where two oceans meet.

I used to ask him how the **** he didn't get lost and he told me he would just follow the passenger ship over there, and if he lost it, he'd wait for the helicopter between St mary's and Penzance to fly over. <laugh> Crazy bastard.

I think the pub in Joss is called the Captain Digby. Google it. Big outside area on the cliff edge (or I think it was).

Not sure about the seafood platter. I'll Google tomorrow and see if anything stands out that I remember. I'm sure somewhere like Whitstable would do that - well popular place but name escapes me at the mo.

I need sleep now.
