The PL have now officially set the dates for the next transfer window. Starts on the 27th and ends in October ffs. Post all the usual shizzle in here.
Lallana on a free was supposed to be a done deal but some reports say Brighton are now in pole position. Lots of reports recently claiming we are in talks with Real to sign 'flop' Luke Jovic for a cut price £31 million. Very rare that rumours like this turn out to have substance - but we do need to bring another quality striker in.
Sancho will be a United player by the time this thread gets unstickied. Skylarker will visit intermittently to tell us how the PL is not ready for whichever signing Jürgen is linked with. Backed up with some stats from Astro. Matthew’s own face will explode in frustration at not being able to log in.
I’m not convinced you’ll get Sancho this window mate. I think they’ll price him out of a move this time round. I reckon Grealish is the more likely. You should sell De Gea and have Romero and Henderson fight it out the No.1 shirt. Romero is wasting his talent in your stiffs. I’d take him tomorrow over that gurning simpleton we’ve ended up with.
See I think the opposite. Our weakest link is Daniel James, he’s shockingly poor as you’ll see again tonight if Mason Greenwood doesn’t pass his fitness test. I’m convinced Jadon Sancho has already checked out of Dortmund and will force the transfer through. We will probably do the deal for around £65-70m up front and another 30m in achievable add-ons.
Aarons and Hojbjerg seem to be our top targets at the moment. The latter I’m not sold on but he seems the most available DM, think Aarons has decent potential though. We’ll probably compete with those trying to get Fraser on a free I’d imagine, especially if we offload Lamela. CB and competition for Kane is also needed, should’ve done so much more to keep Llorente.
opposite for me mate don’t quite get the hype over Aarons...every time I see him I don’t see any stand out qualities in him. Just a full back who can run a bit fast and forms part of an Uber **** defence. Hojbjerg on the other hand...bare potential and pedigree and like with most of the potential that leaves Southampton. I expect Hojbjerg to make the step up and improve immensely around better players. The boy has worked for Pep who wanted to turn him into the next Busquets at Bayern. Hasenhuttl made him captain upon his arrival. Played at RB for Pep during the Koppal Cup run and helped win it. Defo got soMething about him and Jose seems keen
i think this is bang on the money. Aarons has "potential" like every other full back but for me looks average but can run fast. If you're going to go for any RB whos up and coming (granted he's had **** all games) but lampty at brighton looked alright. Hojbjerg might be the man to add a bit more steel into your team so that you can move lo celso further forward and have hojgbjerg anchoring the mid. Aarons will be cheap though so no doubt levy will go for him
Hojberg shouldnt be too much either...he’s on the last year of his contract. I expect Levy to balls it all up anyway
Like I've said before he's decent enough at everything but doesn't excel at anything either. He's certainly not the man to transform your midfield imo. Would be happy with Walker Peters and £15m.
Transform is a bit strong but will defo add another cog to the Jose machine KWP....you can have for a bag of Wotsits
Aarons reminds me a bit of a raw Walker. Being part of a **** defence isn't really solely on him though, same as when Robertson was at Hull and look at him now. Bassong was a decent signing back in the day for us as well and he got relegated with Newcastle. Hojbjerg just seems like a lesser version of Wanyama, Saints fans don't even seem too fussed at losing him either. Hope I'm wrong but I think there's a good few better out there.
