Royal Ascot Eclipse trend continues, you want horses from the St James Palace and Prince Of Wales for this race iirc

I wouldnt be surprised to see Stoute run Ulysses who won over the course and distance first time out and is still open to improvement after what was probably a career best in the Prince Of Wales. If I knew he was running id have a bit on at 12/1 but I think he is worth chancing for a smaller bet.

Desert Encounter could outrun the 50/1 and if there is going to be a crazy placer id say it will be him. Will be ridden to place and if Barney Roy doesnt stay, one or two dont turn up on the day etc etc its not impossible he could nick 3rd. Id say he is the only value left in the race.

hope every one got on, I know david did

My idea of the 1-2-3 would be: Ulysses, Barney Roy, Desert Encounter.

Fully aware my eye may have read this one wrong and we'll be looking at a podium of Cliffs of Moher, Eminent, Taj Mahal <laugh>

Either way i'm off to Sandown tomorrow for the first time and can't wait, think this Eclipse is more intriguing than most just because the three year old's have been the source of so much debate

Brilliant David. You stuck with Ulysses from the outset. Hope you did the Tricast

I would be tempted to place lay Ulysses for all i'm worth as well. Barring it's such a poor looking field, bookies look to have it pretty much spot on. Front two and maybe the reincarnation of Pegasus in Eminent are all that can win. At least when Aidan has 4 in you can't accurately figure out which one will win, or be thereabouts on a given day.

Good luck those wagering

Always fancied Ulysses, but I bow down for making me consider Desert Encounter. Kicking myself a little for not going on the tricast but I wouldn't play that game til the day I die. The ground here today is a massive factor, Nearly Caught was initially my fancy in the next but am playing Alyssa. Always rated her and think she might have the kick to see off these in the final couple of furlongs

I was big on Ulysses last year and took plenty of heat for it after the Derby, so as Obrien would say, obviously delighted.

Why are you so excited about winning one race though? Controlling emotions is key to maintaining a steady balance, your demeanour is anything but steady atm. You've criticised stick and he said nothing and somehow think I'm upset over a horse race result which affected me in no way barring applauding the winner and Barney Roy for running nice races.

Best to stay calm and enjoy your winnings.

sticks been giving me **** since I went against his Cliffs Of Moher steering job theory on this thread, waited till after the race to reciprocate

you also wouldnt have posted that about Ulysses being an place lay for all your worth if you didnt know I fancied him, youve become a poor mans beefy

Baffling tactics on Alyssa. Hold her up and bring her late. In a pickle as to what to do in the last, Frontispiece looks all over the winner to me but the odds on disgusts me
