Bringing on Roles for Edwards seems to have been a good move. Added a lot of energy and got the kids on the front foot again. Their keeper's keeping them in this, right now.
Top of the CL group, and Dortmund must win their last game to potentially finish top (otherwise Spurs finish top by virtue of the head to head results) .
The commentator mentioned it during the game today and I think he's right. There does seem to be rather a stark difference between our youth results domestically and those in the UEFA Youth League. Are we playing a lot of very young players in the U23s or something?
There's certainly a fair amount of crossover, with the likes of Edwards, Shashoua, Roles, Skipp and Sterling regularly feature in the PL2 lineups.
Yeah, I'm just not that sure what they're normally up against. I'd like to see an average age scale or something. Seriously doubt that anyone's made one, of course, but you never know.
Here's the goals from the Dortmund game There's also a couple of supercuts Marcus Edwards Samuel Shashoua
Walcott? The ****? Pochettino, Another Shashoua, Richards and one of the various Maghomas are perfectly acceptable, though.
Goals from Griffiths, Edwards, Tanganga and Richards. Edwards also hit the bar from the penalty spot on the hour.
Edwards did not have a good game today and after his last penalty miss (against RM) he should have made sure of this one. Richards was delighted at his goal for the next level up for him. (nothing like their goalscorer who celebrated as if he won the cup).
I'm getting some strange Alli vibes from Edwards at the moment, unfortunately. Everything that I read seems to point to attitude problems and a lack of application, but he's still scoring and picking up assists consistently. Like most of us on here, I'm reliant on the opinions of others as to how well he and the other youngsters are doing. Always happy to hear from anyone who's there to see it in person.
