Gary Johnson is their manager. He's also managed Northampton, Yeovil, Peterborough and Latvia. Obviously. Recommended Marian Pahars to Southampton, apparently. Eye for talent on at least one occasion.
I played in the same team as Gary back in the day, he's a lovely guy. . Never gets the credit for showing faith in Dion Dublin. Dion was struggling in Cambridge reserves, Gary took over the 1st team and gave Dion his debut at Peterborough where he got a hat trick. The rest is history. In contrast, his son Lee, manager of Bristol City is a complete twat.
Ah, Dion Dublin. One of the last players to successfully play as a striker and a centre-half. Whatever happened to that? Did Gary Doherty kill it off?

Over in the Stemwede tournament, having topped the group with four wins we ended up losing the semi-final to eventual winners Taurine FC Brazil, then lost the third-place play-off to Werder Bremen in spite our win over them in the group stage - although judging by Spurs Odyssey's coverage, much of that can be put down to the ref letting Werder play rugby instead of football Taurine FC Brazil 3-2 Spurs (semi-final) (Samuel Shashoua, Sterling) Austin, Dinzeyi (Griffiths 25), Hinds, Skipp, Marsh, Tanganga, Tracey, Duncan (A Shashoua 28), Sterling, Roles, S Shashoua Spurs 0-2 Werder Bremen (third place play-off) Austin, Statham (Dinzeyi 26), Hinds, Marsh (Duncan 32), Skipp, Tanganga, Markanday, A Shashoua, Griffiths (Roles 26), Sterling, S Shashoua On the plus side, Samuel Shashoua was awarded with the Player of the Tournament trophy, which fully justifies my habitual hyping him up at every opportunity.
