No tin hat needed - we've all got opinions :)

Maguire looks off the pace as he never has a run in the team. You can't judge on a 5 minute cameo.

As a player he defends as well as Curtis but has twice the ability on the ball. Rewatch Arsenal away in the cup to see how he plays. There was a point against Man Utd when the ball came back to Curtis and he noncientally kicked the ball in touch as he didn't have the confidence to do anything with it.

I love Curtis by the way but think given a run Harry could be our best defender.

He's dropped far more bollocks than Curtis, he's a squad player with no pace, he gets too close to his man and grabs when they spin him (see Fulham away last season), he may improve his defensive skills but he'll never have pace. If the 7 mill from boro was genuine I'd have snapped their hands off.

His lack of pace is an insurmountable handicap at Premier league level. His tendency to grab hold of opponents is also a major problem in today's climate. If Dawson and Bruce weren't injured then I'm sure we would have taken the "silly money" offered for him. I agree he is a good squad player, as is Alex Bruce, but a decent back up centre half to Davies, Dawson and now Livermore is required in my view.

I'd like to see Harry, Curtis & Daws in a race, not much between them. Paired with a decent paced CB helps (this is were Livermore had helped compliment Davies). I still worry about a Davies & Dawson pairing for pace in this league.

Pace isn't something most defenders are blessed with, Dawson certainly doesn't have any. What Harry is good at, much like Daws and Chester, is having the ball at his feet and playing out from the back. Plus if their positioning is good they don't need pace.

Mason is an absolutely quality addition. We all said we need quality. We had a very good squad as it was and now it's getting stronger, not just bigger.

We've had to pay for Mason but who should care a ****? You have to pay out for anyone worth while. I'd rather spend £13m on him than try get by with some £3m Unknown from Belgium or somewhere. An equally good full back, winger and striker and I'd say we've done great business.

Careful, you'll upset a student of the game and a great advocate of football manager.

Yes he's rough with players but I think he's going to improve. Daws is only going one way unfortunately, he showed that in the play off final when Davies dug him out of a huge hole. If H gets a run, then he'll be better than Daws. IMO!

We currently cover for lack of pace at CB by playing deep. Reading of the game is good enough the deeper you sit. You're only exposed when playing s high line.

One of the best things about the new signings is I don't see them disrupting the group.

Mason is mates with the 3 ex players.

Keane will know Phelan well and probably a few other of the youngsters.

Marshall will link up well with the 3/4 scots in the team .

Harmony should stay.
Pity about the decimation of the Irish

His positioning isn't usually good, my post quotes Fulham but it should read QPR, he was shocking, dragged out of position constantly and then having to give away free kicks when a clever forward span him - for me, he's back up at best.

I think there's more chance that they know each other and you know that . Stop being a cock.

I'm not being a cock. You said they were 'mates' and I questioned if you know this? Not everyone who works together are mates.

I dont dispute that they know each other.
