  • Hull City are in the chase to sign Paris Saint-Germain and Italy goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu, according to reports from France.

The 30-year-old Italian has slipped down the rankings at PSG, appearing just three times for the clublast season. However, he did make an appearance for Italy during Euro 2016 against the Republic of Ireland when Gianluigi Buffon suffered a fever.

Reports in France said City and Everton are now looking to sign the keeper on a loan, saying they face competition from Everton.

It is thought Everton would sign him as a second keeper to new signing Maarten Stekelenburg but at Hull City he would be a new Number 1 with Eldin Jakupovic dropping to the bench in the absence of the injured Allan McGregor.

A report in French daily Le Parisien says PSG would continue to pay part of Sirigu's salary, making City's approach viable.

However, Italian side Sevilla are also said to be pursuing 6ft 4in Sirigu and could offer him Champions League football. Sevilla have also expressed an interest ion Joe Hart after he was dropped by Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

Sirigu, 30, has expressed his disquiet at PSG. He was the club's mainstay for three years until last season dropping behind Kevin Trapp and Alphonse Areola for the Number 1 spot. He has 17 caps for Italy.

I see an article like this with headline's like "city are closing in on player A,B, or C", only to read it and find out that half the PL are interested as well, hopes dash again, just hope that all the brave efforts on the field by our band of brothers are not waste, because of those two spiteful creatures.

Why leave for Championship football ?? But Mo did .....

- Diame had a buy out clause.
- There was no light at the end of the tunnel when Diame was here.
- There was no progression with
- We hadn't won our first two games.
- He's scored in one, debatably 2.
- Newcastle have thrown a **** load of money at it and have Rafa Benitez as manager.
- Keep scoring in this league until January and you can get yourself a bigger move than Aston VIlla.
- No guarantee that Aston Villa will be promoted this season. (nor is it that Newcastle are)
- If he has a problem in England, why would moving down a league to Birmingham make a difference.
- At least he has friends and knows the set up and players here.

I can't believe they are sanctioning the ins and outs now. Abel will only go if he forces the issue. We seem to be linked with a good number of strikers so looks like we have our plan b if he does go.

Being linked with & actually buying are 2 different things though! Plan B?:emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:
