I understand why many are sceptical, but we are being sold.
Deals were agreed twice before with the US group, are you suggesting this is even further down the line?
It's ok having a sensible budget, the real issue is the time remaining with which to spend it.
They want to sell. They jerked the Yanks around too much. They may have learnt their lesson & not make the same mistakes this time.
It's possible it may be a better offer too, who knows ?
And yet teams have been sanctioned for fielding weakened teams in cup games?
You only get a percentage of the profit I'm fairly sure - otherwise the buying club wouldn't be too inclined to agree to it - so we may only get 200k or something like that.

If the £7 million fee is correct than there is no profit for West Brom on Chester as we sold him for £8 million or so.
Thought we sold him for 8m and Villa paid 9m? Or do add-ons not count for sell-on.
I think only a fee, add ons are a bit of a grey area & it depends on what the add ons are & if there is a time limit on them, I expect add ons would be promotion, but whether it's that season I'm not sure, or whether it's any time in that contract?
Having said that if Villa don't go up, I'd expect the better players to be nicked off them. I don't expect Villa to go up!
Pretty shifty then. What was to stop Everton selling Stones for less than they bought him for, with about 50m in add-ons if he plays over 25 games in each of the next four seasons, or something like that? Feel like that opens things to manipulation to circumvent sell-ons.

I'm not sure exactly what the deal is with add ons, normally only ever get mentioned with young players, possibly by the time they get a bigger move, they've got an agent who's telling the clubs what's best for their client.
Still I'm sure someone will come on & say something to break that theory.

It really wouldn't surprise me if the Allams deliberately scuppered the deal with the Americans once they felt they might get a better offer from the Chinese. It's their M.O after all. Do all they can to push people out of the door/back out so they feel like they have taken the high road (in their own warped minds that is).
