The fact nothing is happening suggests to me that a takeover may be closer than people are suggesting.

Cash in the bank is worth more than assets, and more desirable to take over.

But what if the new owners and their manager don't want what the Allams have been buying ( presuming they do actually buy a player or two )
If you are selling your car and I come to see it with a view to buying it, I don't want you adding a set of furry dice, fake leather seat covers and a Steve / Sharon sun strip after I have seen it.

That's different. Buying a car isn't the same as running a football club. The car would still go and wouldn't lose value in 10 months because of some furry dice.

Without investment this squad is a few injuries away from being a development squad.

Jake is no CB. Hudd definitely isnt.

If these alleged Chinese investors are coming on Saturday how will it look if we get stuffed 6 nil??? cos it could easily happen.

Its the perceived value i'm thinking of, what the club / car is today has its value. The seller can add all the bits he wants to increase that value but if its not what the buyer wants then a deal is less likely to be reached.

But the players already there might not be what they want, how good the players are don't really come into it.

Maybe i'm not been clear or you are making hard work of this. Try this way. Today the club is worth 100 million, If Ehab goes and buys messi for another 100 million it does not automatically mean the club is now worth 200 million as Ehab would think. It also works the other way, if we sell Hernandez for 10 million the price for the club is not 90 million as the buyer may think.

No, he's nowhere near as good. He couldn't even break into Wednesday's first team last season. Even in the state we are in, we can do better than that.
 
Few source's seem to think due diligence has started (if AJarvis is brokering deal and his tweet today is right, there could be something in it), and due to be completed by next Friday. Possible new owners by 21/22nd? Would give us 10 days to bring in signings.

If that's the case we might not be too far behind, we may get something against Leicester, not expecting anything from Swansea or Man utd anyway.

No, it doesn't, but the value of the club isn't wholly based on the current playing staff. The Chinese are obviously aware of the situation surrounding our squad, they want the club they are buying to have a fighting chance of surviving and will probably accept any players coming in. Even if they did feel like the new players aren't to their liking, they'd just buy other ones in January and get rid of the ones they don't want. But such decisions are usually left to the management, I'd be very surprised if the Chinese buyers had much knowledge of many of the players we are looking at, we don't even know who they are.
