He's an excellent crosser of the ball and a decent finisher to boot. He's got a good work rate but a tendency to strop a little if things aren't going his way. He'd be a good addition to a Premier League team, but he strikes me as the kind of player who would use us as a stepping stone to a bigger club. Which I wouldn't mind at all if he smashed it for us.
Is he any good on football manager?

Just what I was thinking. Top scouts use FM as a barometer for ability don't they?

No, a common misconception.

Some football club networks use FM's database (which features every registered player in every team in the world) to identify players contract details, lengths, current clubs, nationalities, eligibility for national teams and EU status etc. At no point is a player picked because they are good on a game. It's to do with the detail in the databases. The stats on the game are algorithms and numbers and are not representative of real life in any way.

Interesting comment. Just being flippant or is something in the works?

I thought over the last few weeks that it would make sense to complete takeover this week. All players and staff are back, new owners can then speak directly rather then third hand to all at club.

Transfer wise also makes sense as most players are back from holidays.

Fingers crossed

The complete radio silence also gave me hope as things generally get quite quiet right before it goes through, as both parties cut all leaks in order to get things over the line.

You mean all the made up stuff?

Manchester United are about to join the race for Derby midfielder, and Hull City target, Will Hughes.

Jose Mourinho, who begins his first pre-season in charge of the Red Devils today, is eyeing homegrown youngsters to compliment the overseas talent that arrive at Old Trafford. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic already on board, Mourinho is said to be sending scouts across the country to snap up the best English starlets, according to the Sun.

Hughes spent six months of last season out of action with a knee ligament injury but returned in April to mount a promotion push with the Rams. Derby reportedly want £7m for the 21-year-old but are likely to offer him a new deal to rid interest elsewhere.

Hull City target?

Let's hope so.

I'll be amazed if £7m would get him.
