But if he wasn't good enough for Reading, what makes you think he's suddenly going to be good enough in the Premier League again? He's not once looked good playing us or playing for Reading full stop which is why we're a little confused that you're backing us signing him. A new lease of life doesn't always ring true, look at what happened with Ben Arfa and he's 10x the player HRK is. Also, his initials are an anagram of HKR, so no chance we'll sign him.

Hernandez doesn't need a target man to play off at all, what he needs is the team to play to his strengths, get it into his feet and let him have attempts on goals. He's managed 20 odd goals without a target man, I think it's safe to say he doesn't need one. A strike partner perhaps, a target man not necessarily.

As a FAT Robson-Kanu is not a risk. However I think our targets are of a higher level first off, but at the cheaper end a chance worth taking.

As for your point re. Hernandez. A target man and someone who can hold the ball up @ PL level and is well proven is just what he needs. It would have been 30 plus last season if we had had one. But I still hope that Diomande can show something more than we have seen so far. twt.

Palace are quoting 11m for Gayle and Fulham 12m for McCormack,
Either Bruce gets lucky with a FAT or an inspired lower leaguer signing or some serious moneys going to have to be spent to bring someone proven in.

Agreed.

Matt Taylor from Bristol Rovers is a free agent this week and Kemar Roofe from Oxford Utd has been valued at £3m. Again worth a punt on both for the cash required. Wages wont be an issue at all.

Morning all, first time posting, long time lurking.

Joao from Wednesday looks to have potential is very good at holding the ball up. He could be worth a punt if other options are slim.

Like the username.

Actually misread your tag line or whatever it's called as "The Bransholme Buffoon" rather than Buffon - which is a shame and has slightly decreased my like of your username.
