Where does Henrikson play? I'm really concerned we're shorr of wide men. If Snodgrass got injured we'd suddenly have next to no creativity from out wide. Reminds me of 2014/15 when we had an excellent squad in some areas, but a few injuries to Diame, Jelavic and Snodgrass suddenly made us really lacking in a couple of areas.

Henriksen and Weir both play wide.

Henriksen can play anywhere behind the striker, left, right, centre.

Out wide our options are ok, espcially as Phelan likes to play a front 3 meaning strikers can potentially play as wide men too.

Abel, Dio, Keane, Snoddy, Weir, Henriksen, Clucas... we'll be fine.

fullback position is the only concern, left back we've got options, Robbo obviously, Tymon for cover, Clucas can also do a job there as can Weir apparently... but the right side we're ****ed...

Everything I've seen suggests both Henriksen and Weir are central midfielders.

Transfermarkt and FM don't have Henriksen as being able to play anywhere other than centrally. He looks a real Koren type player who was completely wasted out wide.

I put them out wide in FIFA last night and they didn't keel over, so apparently they're able to play out wide.

Will Keane is a handy GK as well by the way.

Fortunately a lot of them can play elsewhere too.

Other than Livermore, Maloney and Clucas defence and attack they are all midfielders.

At least you got a like off our resident 'visionary'. Whilst square pegs and round holes is ok to a point - it's not something ideal for the long term.

I'd completely forgotten about Maloney. At least we have someone properly capable at left wing.

Yes he's old and saggy and didn't have the best season last time round but still no reason why he couldn't be a pretty useful player this season. Form comes and goes but the quality is certainly there.

Meyler has played well for club and country as a right back. It's a position he might be useful for.

We're in a lot better position than we were a fortnight ago. I think we probably have the resources to get to January although we'll need a fair wind to avoid injuries and suspensions in key positions. We still do not have a complete first team squad so are at an obvious disadvantage compared to our opponents. However, we can at least now look to the future with a bit of optimism and it's been a while since we've been able to say that.
