Valdes aside. Subotic? He may be good in whatever league he's come from and on football manager, but we haven't seen him in the PL, which can iron out some of the biggest reputations in football. There'll be loads of points to be had. The traditional big clubs are doing such big rebuild jobs they'll have as many ups and downs this season as last. They're all signing a lot of players, they'll be playing new systems. We've got a relatively settled team with some very good players already. Stop knicker wetting please.
Bollocks. Valdes aside and maybe Negredo if he signs. None have played in the PL. Let's see how that works out for them before everyone starts getting their knickers in a twist like Sterling.
You will have all the Bruce worshippers there in a lather mate, remember in Bruce we trust regardless of any reason or logic or performances
Seriously ? Middlesborough have bought some great players. When you say none have played in the Premier League, I assume you were excluding the period Negredo played for Man City. They were a far better team than us last season, barring one match. They've bought some class players. We haven't and probably aren't going to. I know who I think will do better this season.
I think we will stay up we need a couple of canny signings but arguably we had a Prem squad last year so it's not as if we really need major rebuilding, I'd love to see that Hendrick turn up at the KC for starters
Come on, yes it was a decent turn and finish, and yes technically they are international defenders, but that defending was ****ing abysmal. You could see that turn coming about 5 seconds prior and yet instead of closing it, the defenders just made it bigger.
Not at all. I can't be doing with all this pant pissing because Middlesbrough have signed so and so who got bombed out of Valencia because frankly he was ****. Subotic made 5 starts last season - yes 5.
Ah the old football manager argument. Broken out when a lack of knowledge about players becomes apparent. Nobody is knicker wetting, stop trying to play up my response to make me look stupid, you're better than that. If you think we will be fine with the players we have and the ones we've been linked to then fine. I just think we need to up our quality in the transfer market if we are to stand any real chance of surviving. That is, of course, dependent on the budget which until the sale of the club happens, will be minimal.
The one thing we've got in our favour over them is continuity. They've signed a load of players who - genuinely - will be shocked by a dark cold February Tuesday night fixture on Teeside. I think they'll start brilliantly and the wheels will fall spectacularly from Nov to Feb and they'll finish bottom 5 without doubt.
I said Valdes and Negredo aside though Negredo isn't completed yet?. There's a huge gamble on knitting a team together out of a mass of imports, whatever their reputation.
I'd say we only need 6, maybe up to 7 now due to probably now needing another keeper. I, as previously stated would much rather sign tried and tested players from this country. Foreign players at our level are seldom an overnight success, which is what you need as a new club. Getting off to a good start with points on the board is very important. If we signed players 6 of the following players (hypothetically). GK Marshall Cardiff Def Sane Bordeaux Def Shackell Derby Mid Hendrick Derby Mid Mason Spurs Mid Howson Norwich Mid Hoolahan Norwich Mid McManaman WBA St Ulloa Leicester St HKR I think we'd have a decent squad Sane from Bordeaux wouldn't be my choice. I'd sign someone like Shackell at Derby and go with Dawson, Davies and Maguire. Job done.
There's only Boro signing players, I don't think burnley have signed anyone. Hopefully Bruce has some decent signings lined up once the ownership gets sorted (hopefully soon). As I don't think he'd still be here if Robson-Kanu was really top of his targets and matched our asperations. I'm normally a pessimist but I'm not panicking just yet, another week or 10 days then I'll be chucking my toys
Burnley are desperately trying to hang on to players!! I reckon they'll lose that Keane, already lost Barton - two pivotal players from last season.
I'd be happy with him! As long as he wasn't our only centre forward signing. Add in an Ulloa with Abel and HKR and it looks better.
Hal Robson-Kanu really isn't that good. If we were beaten by Sheffield Wednesday and were still in the Championship I'd have reservations about us signing a player who had a **** season in a **** Reading side.
