True, but we also had Hamilton's "water system" problem yesterday. I'm not suggesting it's big drama and of course they'll probably tell you that finding faults "is what testing is for". Still, I am sure they would rather be bullet proof.

Interestingly, Mclaren have now managed more laps (40) than Marussia managed in the whole of the first test (27) last year... but they're still 80 laps away from the next worst team in terms of mileage at the first test, which was Lotus with 111 (closely followed by Red Bull with 116). And we know what happened to them.

McLaren have also yet to put in any kind of lap at racing speed.

How good the car and engine is when on full song is not yet known. Lots of positive noises coming out of McLaren, but nothing to show for it yet, or anything that resembles anything positive on the track.

That Ferrari looks good in the high/medium speed corners, under braking and traction. Not as good as Mercedes but I think they're on Williams and RBR level, well from what I've seen in the various videos.

The McLaren is a boat, **** under braking, **** under traction and looks like it could spin every time you apply power. But that's new engine's for you.

It was interesting that they were only 4kph down on the Merc in a straight line.

Kvyat off again.

Trying a bit too hard early on? RBR won't be impressed if he has damaged the car again so early in the day.

Must have been an early comparison against another car not running at full tilt, Tom Tom's post shows they are still well behind, but I doubt they are running the unit at full power yet.
