He does have a point even though i didn't like the way he pronounced Briatore. Why did he need to go into some sort of mixed up pronunciation? he sounded like those idiots on SKY that say Bathalona instead of Barcelona.

Anyway he is right about the kit and why does the club need to make up excuses. I am beginning to not like the PR bloke Ian Taylor.
    I won't be buying a kit.

It's a thumbs down for me: I would prefer proper hoops (i.e. all the way round) - it appears other teams with multi coloured shirts don't need a "patch" on the back so why should we?

I don't buy the long lead time argument either - if they can't design and manufacture more quickly than that, they should be ashamed of themselves: Nike, a world class organisation? Not on this evidence.

I quite like the third team strip until it's pointed out that it's an off-the-shelf Nike standard shirt with a QPR badge ironed on. I would prefer something more clearly unique. I liked the suggestion (above) of grey and black hoops.

    Disappointing.

I agree with Ellers (of course you Saxbend) - it's the fact that Ian Taylor feels the need to lie about it. I've just looked at the Football Kit News website - 2015/2016 WBA home kit - back of the shirt - stripes....The Sunderland kit has already been mentioned elsewhere. I look forward to seeing what Brighton/Reading/Blackburn/Brentford/Hull/Huddersfield/Sheff Wed have on the back of their home shirts this coming season in the Championship. I agree (Aqualung) that there are probably other things as/more important to moan about but I think Uncle Tony will realise what a mistake he/somebody has made at the end of the season when revenue from shirt sales has sunk to an all time low. Design/manufacture a shirt that we all like (obviously full/thicker hoops is what all fans wanted in the survey) = more shirt sales = more revenue for the club - surely basic business sense? I, like Ellers & Saxbend won't be renewing my shirt this year....

If only everyone cared about the club as little as you then there wouldn't be a problem!

Thanks Surrey, had searched everywhere but will have to settle for a baby grow for my new arrival. In regards to the proper hoops, disappointed. My partner asked me last season what I thought of the kit (not knowing she had just purchased one for my birthday) I said it was ****, but would be better next year due to the first year with Nike deal. A week later I opened my new shirt that I had recently told her I hated! I'm sure they could have argued the clarity or players name etc legislation and hope they do in the future

I also think the grey and black hoops that was pointed out to be a possible leak (but turned out to be a black and white picture) would be brilliant. Keep the hoops, change the colour!!

Aqualung, there are many other fundamental things to focus on.
But with the "new era" for the club the excuses made for not having hoops seems to have been lied about by our head of communications, looking at the timeline of statements and the various other clubs who have not given up their heritage. A club that cries "Superhoopsa" from the stands looks pretty stupid when they have no hoops!
Money talks and it seems Nike has driven through what they want, probably for ease of manufacture rather than caring about what the club's fans want. Even Jamie Mackie identified it as missing at the launch!!
The easy option is whether to buy or not. That will do the talking. No hoops - no sale for me at least.

To me this does not necessarily need to be an issue.
Let the team what they "have to wear".

However also roduce the new team shirt for us fans to purchase (fans shirt)....with the red collar, blue sleeves, red pin stripe but with hoops all the way round.

They would maximise the "sellability"..some will by the team shirt some will buy the fans shirt, some will by both and Saxbend will boycott both
    Sorted!

I think they have hoops but not 100% sure. I saw a guy yesterday wearing a Reading top and not sure if its this season or old one but it was hooped.

I think the Rangers fans should wear older tops in protest. I know it won't bother some this new top but this is how it starts. The next thing we will be playing in red.

These people may own the club but they are just custodians. They don't own the history or it's culture. When they are gone someone else will take over and they must respect the clubs history as well.

QPR play in hooped shirts, it's as simple as that. I don't put diesel in my car when it has always run on petrol unless i am an idiot?

Your proposal would certainly be an improvement on what's actually happened, but it would still be an unnecessary compromise. The fact is we've been lied to about rules and we've been lied to about the design process with Nike. There was no need to rush a design to get it finalised in September, and there was no need to ignore fans' input to do so. There was also no need to dismiss the only aspect of a QPR shirt that matters. The shade of blue can vary, as can the thickness of the hoops, and the appeal of the design will increase and decrease analogously with changes to either. But not to have hoops at all is an automatic fail.

But that's just the kit design. That doesn't cover the lies. The lies are what have made me so angry. Last season it was just about a bad shirt. I didn't buy it. I moaned a bit, and that was it. There's so much more to it than just a bad shirt this time.

QPR and Reading are the only League clubs that have worn hooped shirts for a substantial part of their career. Rangers' 1960s broad hoops remain the definitive design from a period when the club enjoyed most success.

We evolved into blue and white hoops plus introduced the Denace

    Great video

Hopefully a few more changes to come at the club

Sorry but people at QPR are not smart enough to be in the brand business

Reading have chopped and changed kits throughout their nothing history. QPR are known for the hoops and should stick with it and not be brushed aside by idiots that have no idea.

We can't change what is already done. We don't have to buy the new shirts - any of them. Sadly, the players do have to wear them, but it's not their fault. As has been highlighted, the PR spin on this does not seem to stack up and looks very dodgy.

So, where can someone who does not own a team shirt with thick hoops that go all the way round actually go to buy one? I seem to remember there might be a website somewhere that sells replica "classic era" shirts for teams. Before the days of player names on the back and lots of advertising. Perhaps that's the thing to buy and wear - possibly even turning your back to the pitch for a very short period (to show the hoops) when the board takes its seat, so they truly understand that Nikes money isn't worth it with the compromise they've been forced to accept and that you shouldn't sell your soul in small pieces and hope no-one notices.

This has nothing to do with the first team. It has everything to do with the club.

Now, if you're one of those people who think it doesn't matter, fine. I do, and I'm allowed to think so.

Don't mind the kit, think it's a great improvement on last year. Just want to get the season started with some hungry players and be competitive. Onwards and upwards hopefully
