Our group of season ticket holders were 2 down because it finished after their bedtime.

for me it was the change in date. it was going to be too expensive to change the return flights from our holiday which were on the Friday. so that explains why we were 2 possibly 3 down.

To be honest, I don't think 19,000's too bad at this time of year on TV on a Friday night. I reckon the issue's just another one where people need to better manage their expectations.

!9,000 is pretty good considering our last seasons mid-table position. There will always be the fans who only go when City are doing well and these would have dropped off after last seasons 21 goals from 23 games at home. Unless we bang some goals in I cannot see us doing any better than this at the moment.

20% YES.....But i would say the fact it was Live on Sky kept away the floaters. Looks at Southamptons game with Leeds that was not full either Nor was West Hams (everyones favs) home game sunday with Cardiff. Its a fact really that LIVE TV GAMES HIT GATES. Hence why they pay a £60,000 match fee to the home club.

They showed Deano dick about and then score on Sky. What was the 'entertainment' all about?

Even without it being the school holidays I'd imagine a lot of the exiled fans (even season ticket holders) didn't turn up.

For a normal weekend game in the middle of the season I can get the train tickets for less than £25 return (about £33 full paying adult).
Because the fixtures came out in mid June the cheapest I could get the trip at the end of this month was £35 (£50 for full paying adult).
For the Blackpool game I'd have been looking at about £50 for me (£70 full price), plus food and drink costs. Instead I went to the pub and watched it and then went to see a comedy show in Edinburgh straight after and spent £25 on the night.

It'll be similar prices for southern exiles, though I would have thought most of them would be paying the full price so at £70 a go. Add on that it was rearranged for a Friday night and you're looking at half a day's leave, and possibly a hotel, so you'd be looking at £110 cash and whatever 1/10th of your weekly wage is in holiday allowance used up. Much better using it as one of your free games on the season ticket and watching at home so you can save the money to pay for your transport to 2 or 3 games later in the season.
