The Championship season was just immense. In the top two virtually start to end. Loved it.

I enjoyed league One for the variety and big away crowds when we travelled, but that Championship season we fabulous.

“We are Southampton, we’re top of the League”

Loved that season too and some of the football we played was sublime (the 26 pass David Connolly goal against Boro anyone?).
Getting promoted that season with that squad was the biggest achievement of the last 10 years IMO and who knows where we might be now and what we might've missed out on if we hadn't managed it then?....

I genuinely loved all of that squad then, even Schteeeve and Bart.

Found that match, superb stuff....man I enjoyed watching that again, can only hope that Ralph engenders the same team spirit and togetherness again...

That Championship season was amazing. Millwall away was my favourite moment and that was the day I really started to believe we would go up. Shame we didn't win the league but hey, look where Reading are now.

Best thing about the Championship season was being told all season it wouldn't happen:

- it's a big step up, you have no chance

- Fat boy Lambert will never cut it in the Championship.

Ha, I was going to carry that on but just typing those two out makes the point and gives me a big old grin :)

Ah yes :)

"You're just a **** Rickie Lambert"

Sung to Grant Holt & David Nugent :)

In reverse order from me:

3. League One promotion season. Loved it. we finally had something to cheer about.
2. Koeman 2nd season. Includes that 3-2 v Liverpool after 2-0 at half time and Mane missing an early 2nd half penalty. 6th in the league and enabled me to go to San Siro the next year to see my team play in a competitive game. Also enabled us to beat Inter Milan at home the next year. Oh and 8-2 v Sunderland and 6-1 v Villa with a 2 minute hattrick and 5-0 at half time :)
1. Championship promotion season. Simply incredible. As others have said, expected to struggle, but from day 1 stayed in the top 2 to the end. Just joy after joy after joy. Nige was good too :)

It was 8-0 c Sunderland.

8-2 v Coventry in 1984... only thirty odd years between them!! :)

See further up...our age is catching up with me. However, without google I can tell you that Coventry 8-2 was 28th April 1984, Steve Moran & Danny wallace Hat tricks and David Armstrong Without googling cant remember the other...maybe Graham Baker. Also, when we got promoted from League One, it was the 28th April :)

Not quite lost it, but getting doddery :)

EDIT: Googled and it was Frank Worhty.
