Had to admit there were tears in my eyes when Ballard put that header in and who would've thought at the time we would have the players we have in the team now and where we are in the Premier League but such a great night and great memory

Glorious, just glorious. The scenes at the end were beautiful chaos.

The SOL’s greatest ever goal? For me it beats all others.

Yes there have been better finishes, or individual skill, but the lad folded himself in half, with the last kick of the game, over an old rival we continually failed to beat, to send us through the playoff finals which we won.

Doesn’t matter how many times I watch it back it still stirs something inside me. Pure magic.

I agree, I still get emotional watching replays of that goal. It meant so much considering our recent history.

I have tried to explain to anyone prepared to listen how, after the goal went in, what the noise physically felt like - it was more than noise (although the noise was great!)
Primal is a word that comes to mind. Probably a bit over the top.

Thinking about it there, the goal was just so unexpected. A corner at the very very end of two legs of hard-fought football. The hope is there but the expectation we were going to score was very low. It's more thinking '****ing hell, penalties' and the lottery of those. My wife and I briefly spoke about the tall players that might rise high and nod one in - I said Jobe and she said Ballard. Then... kaboom! Pandemonium and the Coventry players and fans are almost forgotten about - as if they disappeared. The power of the celebrations (that just kept going) was something else. To say thanks to all the players and coaches after that final home game in such a way was brilliant as well.

The sound was absolutely unbelievable! Like you said everyone was expecting penalties but hoping that the corner would result in a goal. I think the fact that it went in off the underside of the bar stopped everyone inside the ground until they saw it over the line. I was in the North Stand and to me it seemed like the South Stand went up and the other stands then followed realising what had happened. A load of emotions went through me at that moment, relief that penalties had been avoided, ecstacy that we had scored right at the death after been under the cosh. Just a brilliant memory

I’m so jealous of everyone that was there that special night. It will live in your memories forever.
I was on holiday at the time so missed both matches. I was following the updates live on the BBC as the nearest bar didn't have our game on. The updates I got when we scored were phenomenal, I ran round the resort like a lunatic celebrating but I'd have given my right arm to be there in the flesh. I made up for it by being at Wembley though!

Was without a doubt one of the best nights of my life.

The branch bus on the way in was full of songs and optimism, it just felt like we were destined to make it.

As Enzo kissed the ball, I looked skyward and asked for help and 30 seconds later absolute bedlam.

Images and feelings that forever be etched in my mind

I was a broken man next day at work, could hardly speak, my legs were bruised but wouldnt have swapped it for the world
