It wasn't just that we won through to the final, it was who it was against.

I was dreading penalties so there was the joy of the goal, the elation of not having to endure spot kicks plus the feeling that we finally got to repay Coventry in time added on.

It was an experience I wouldn't swap for anything. Games under the floodlights are always more exciting and fans being allowed to celebrate as long as they wanted made it much better than the wins at Wembley, where they just want you out - the real celebrations being held in Trafalgar Square.

The whole city was rocking and I loved all the videos posted on social media from various front doorways where they could hear the roar of the stadium.

The sound was absolutely unbelievable! Like you said everyone was expecting penalties but hoping that the corner would result in a goal. I think the fact that it went in off the underside of the bar stopped everyone inside the ground until they saw it over the line. I was in the North Stand and to me it seemed like the South Stand went up and the other stands then followed realising what had happened. A load of emotions went through me at that moment, relief that penalties had been avoided, ecstacy that we had scored right at the death after been under the cosh. Just a brilliant memory

I expected penalties. I went down for a piss to beat the rush before the pens. I heard the roar of come on just as I was leaving the toilet so sprinted back up the access to see Le Fee getting the ball for a corner. I'm in the North stand so I remember the clock on the south stand saying 121.48 and literally thinking this is our 1 last chance. I had zero faith in us on pens.

I quickly made the assessment that I couldn't get back to my seat so stood at the access to watch the corner. It felt like an absolute age before Le Fee put the corner in to the point where I actually thought to myself I should have gone back to my seat. Finally the corner came in and from over 100 yards away all I saw was a load of bodies go in the air and the ball making it's way goalwards. I saw the ball bounce down of the bar and had no idea where it had gone. It was probably half a second but felt like an hour until I heard the roar from the south stand and that beautiful realisation that we had actually scored. As i was alone in the access I had so much room to just go absolutely mental before hugging a steward who too his credit was still staring at the crowd looking away from the pitch. I then sprinted up the steps to my seat hugging everyone in the row on my way back just to be in amongst it.

As has been said absolutely beautiful chaos and a moment I will remember until the day I die.

Had to watch on TV. When Ballard scored I was frozen. Couldn't believe it. Incredible.
The time where I was frozen was when Tommy scored at Wembley. Moore gave the ball away and I shouted ‘Go on Tommy’. This is at the beam back in Quinn’s bar. He strides forward, hits a seemingly slow shot towards the goal. The ball appears inside the goal’s side netting. Part of my brain is going ‘that’s a goal you know’ but the rest of me is stood there in shock. Cue bedlam again.

Aw man! That's for 10 days time

Think that's the best match I've been to out of all of them.

I too was resigned to penalties and the fear of losing them. We sit in the SEC. I saw Enzo kiss the ball, and then I just willed it into the net with every part of my body and to my astonishment, it went in. The celebration afterwards was insane. The noise, people flying about all over the place, people hugging and kissing each other, just a pure moment of joy.

same and was resigned to losing penalties as our record last season wasn't great on pens

Primal is a word that comes to mind. Probably a bit over the top.

Thinking about it there, the goal was just so unexpected. A corner at the very very end of two legs of hard-fought football. The hope is there but the expectation we were going to score was very low. It's more thinking '****ing hell, penalties' and the lottery of those. My wife and I briefly spoke about the tall players that might rise high and nod one in - I said Jobe and she said Ballard. Then... kaboom! Pandemonium and the Coventry players and fans are almost forgotten about - as if they disappeared. The power of the celebrations (that just kept going) was something else. To say thanks to all the players and coaches after that final home game in such a way was brilliant as well.
Mr R - I now have my word...perfectly sums it up...

Much better than "have you ever heard 40,000 people orgasm at the same time" which is one of the ones I have used previously!

In between the semi and the playoff final, I was in the yellow wall at Dortmund celebrating as their win cemented their place in the Champions League. What a month last May was!

The SOL’s greatest ever goal? For me it beats all others.

Yes there have been better finishes, or individual skill, but the lad folded himself in half, with the last kick of the game, over an old rival we continually failed to beat, to send us through the playoff finals which we won.

Doesn’t matter how many times I watch it back it still stirs something inside me. Pure magic.
We were debating this in the pub yesterday. My mate was adamant that the atmosphere and the moments in the Chelsea and Everton games when we stayed up in 2016 were better. Safe to say I disagree.

1 year and 1 week ago, SAFC took over Wembley. The site was down early last Sunday so we didn’t get to reminisce as much as expected. I don’t think anyone could have foreseen the season that followed - maybe KLD had an idea of the outside chance if absolutely everything came together
