So, so far this transfer window we have signed 1 new player. At the start of the window nigel said that they would try and get faces in before forest. Do you think we will sign some one before then?

Do you think we need to sign anyone?

I don't think there will be a new face in before saturday but i do think that we need to sign players asap. I think that with TL as our only out and out striker we might struggle to score. Some will say that GDP is a striker but i see him more as an attacking mid.

Is D Connelly injured (again)? If not, then he is an out and out striker. Don't expect TL to start so, if fit, it looks like DC and GDP up front. We definitely don't look as potent without RL in the team, although perhaps not having a targetman will mean we play a bit more passing football avoiding the temptation to hoof it up front

As said in another thread, these 2 games are the most important to our campaign in my opinion. If we lose both or draw and lose, i cant see us having the mental state to recover from the slump and mount a title challenge. This is why i said its crucial we get names in right now. Its now Thursday, too late to sign someone for Forest now, and probably too late to get someone into the starting lineup for Leicester. This gives me the impression that we havnt managed to close on our first choice deals and are probably moving to contingency or second choice deals, if anything happens at all..

oh yeah forgot about DC. don't know if he's fully fit or not but hopefully he can get some goals again

Not sure who will play up front Saturday but it wont be our new signing as he has not even trained with the team yet. I have heard that we have been in talks with Celtics Hooper and even if we signed him now i suppose possible bench. I think David Connolly will be invaluable over the next few weeks

Adkins has said on BBC site that he'd been at St Mary's for a couple of days and was fit, but the aim is to get him for the Leicester game. Too early for the Forest game because of red tape he has to sort out in Japan. I expect he needs to see him in proper training sessions to see where he is in terms of fitness.

I must admit to being concerned at a supposed lack of activity. We really do need players now with the squad decimated and lack of form.

The issue for us saints fans now is that all we can do is speculate when we really have no clue what is happening behind the scenes. That leaves us all writing on these forums in frustration.

The truth of the matter is that in the championship, your almost only ever as good as your last few games, which we have lost. I personally believe that these next few games are crucial too and if we lose to Leicester and Forest it will be extremely hard to come back.

However if we are biding our time to sign the right player to push us on and we grind out a couple of results against Forest and Leicester we will be in a very strong position with players coming back from injury, suspension and potential new signings.

In a rather long winded way of putting it. Time will tell what the future holds. I'm sure Adkins and Cortese are doing what they can and recognise what we all see. Come February the 1st we will truly see how much ambition we have.....

He's got to get clearance from the British Embassy, come over from Japan again, recover from the travel, sign a contract, have the contract registered with the FA and pose in the changing room. Not possible before Saturday.
