king out of much respect to you I'll answer that. I sort of agree. Rodgers will have to play a waiting game. If he really wants say christian eriksson and alonso he's got to shift carroll to get some wages but we know both selling clubs will hold out for the best deal. they always do. Then add to that the cost and the money form carroll is needed. If we look at LFC we see 3 strikers so its not like the guy is needed to make no 4. no its again will someone actually bid for suarez. If they do and its a fight to keep / get the best price then the fact is rodgers might need to hang on unitl he gets his own replacement in. I expect preseason is actually early for a sale i think that unless LFC are learning nothing OR someone does pony up 17mil (mad) then carroll will only go late on in the window after the season has begun. (last two weeks) I would agree that the fee is not going to grow from 17mil and carrol's not done much to help it at west ham. West ham cannot afford 17mil thats clear and he doesn't want to stay there anyway.... 12mil plus add ons to bring it close to 17 if say he plays for england or does this or that is indeed likely. Much depends on suarez and our actual targets this summer. we'll need the money so carroll is one obvious source of it.
you'll be parting with a lot more if you don't win a few! Fulham home, if you lose that gimmie as well... oh boy! I would actually hate to see it but you are up to your neck..
Unless we desperately need the money then the best option would be to continue loaning him out so long as the wages are being paid for. Carroll has about four years left to run on his Liverpool contract and will get better so the price can only grow. We won't get anywhere the ridiculous £35m but if we want £17m then we should stick to our guns as long as its not to the detriment of Liverpool Football Club!
Welcome to the forum. Tash is an out-and-out wum. However, I don't think we'll get 17 mill for Carroll. Why not visit the 'Welcome Thread'. It's specifically posted for new members like yourself. Enjoy
Liverpool can put whatever price they want on his head, it means nothing until another club decides to pay it. The game around Carroll's future has already started, WHU won't pay that sort of dosh for him, Rodgers has now said that he can come back "as a squad player" & now the 'leaked' valuation. They're basically saying publicly to his agent & the player himself, go & find a club prepared to pay roughly what we will accept or you'll be coming back here to sit in the stiffs.
