Sorry to pick you up on this gruffnuts, it's not just you...
I don't get all this rubbish about Rhodes 'not putting in a shift'. It's not true at all. He's a poacher, yes, and all he really has done for any given club is score goals (at a bloody brilliant average of 28 a season for the last five seasons) but that doesn't mean he's not working hard. To get into the positions he does in the box requires an awful lot of intelligent movement and to find the space he does means that he has to be on the move all the time. Rhodes is not lazy. He has a job and he does it extremely effectively.
if you watch him hucks you'll see that gruffnuts is absolutely correct. he is a lazy player. he comes alive when the ball arrives in the box and there's nothing wrong with that (he is clinical) if you supply him with the ammunition he needs but you'll get nothing else from him and when things are going against him he hides. its 'not just him' saying it because many others who have watched him notice his work rate, or rather lack of it. this is probably the main reason why no premier league team has taken a chance on him. he's certainly not worth anything like the money being bandied about. £5m tops. have to also disagree about his movement - its not as good as you'd think. rvw has outstanding movement and plays a similar role to rhodes and is a much better player. we've already got him - play him!
