£3-5 million was mentioned earlier in the season. I think £5-8 million is still reasonable. Anything higher than that and I think Leeds are taking the piss. We want him, he wants to be here so all parties should come to a reasonable agreement.
Haha yes I just responded to someone with just about that price bracket so agreed. Much more than 8 (unless we say 7m + 3m if we stay up or something) and I'd walk away.

Sick of hearing that Leeds 'want' this or that for Gelhardt. I'm sure they wanted it last summer too and they had to settle for a loan with no fee. I'm sure we 'want' to sell Akintola for £5m but the seller doesn't get to just choose a price. At PL level we aren't as desperate for him as they will be to get rid of him, so they'll have to accept what they can get.

Issue is rangers are interested too.

"On the transfer side, what we want to achieve to make this club bigger is now finding the best talents for the future that will also perform well, and will give advantages for the future of the club," Ilicali told Hull Live.

"In order to make this club bigger, we have to bring in some players who can provide good football, plus good sales in the future.

"I really believe in our recruitment team. I really believe in Jared (Dublin, sporting director), and the eyes that brought us Charlie Hughes, (Mo) Belloumi, and these young talents and players. Now with the bigger budgets we will spend, of course, good money, but not on names, but on the potential and productive players.

"Maybe we need one or two magicians in the team, but I think one of our strongest things will be our fighting spirit, like we have seen this season. I think we will have young and potential players for this."

"For the next year, McBurnie would be a fantastic example. As you saw, I think he upgraded Hull City with his presence, so I think we have to bring one player that upgrades the team completely."

Just to add to the interest levels, the EPL rules state the following.

"K.4 No Club shall have or enter into a ground-sharing agreement unless the agreement contains a legally enforceable provision to the effect that the playing of the Club's League Matches shall always take precedence over the activities of the other party to the agreement
That’s interesting as I doubt that our agreement say that (someone on here will know?)
Was that rule in place last time we were there or has it changed recently?

We have a gentlemen's agreement with Leeds from last summer regarding the fee.

I'm sure I heard it was £3m, that article is just bluster to get some clicks.

Just to add some further context, ‘Slovakia’ and ‘Slovenia’ are fairly young nations or national concepts when referred to those particular names. However, the rough borders of modern-day Slovakia and Slovenia as territorial entities going by different names stretches all the way back to the early Middle Ages.

The Principality of Nitra was an independent Slavic polity in western modern-day Slovakia during the 9th century before being annexed by the Principality of Moravia. The principalities of Carniola and Carantania in the early Middle Ages made up the territory of modern-day Slovenia. Originally, they were independent Slavic principalities before being annexed by the Carolingian/Holy Roman Empire in the 10th century as marches/border duchies.

Also, whilst large numbers of Slavs migrated to the Balkans in the 6th and 7th centuries (as proven by archaeogenetics), it’s highly-likely they intermingled with Alpine Celts, Illyrians and other palaeo-Balkan groups in the region.
Not simply any old 'Thread drift' but 'Educational Thread Drift' ETD :emoticon-0148-yes:

That’s irrelevant. The player wants to come here.
There was some general chat about Rangers being interested in Gelhardt a few months back but I doubt very much that Rangers have got the funds to get involved in any bidding war with us or have any desire to chase a player who's made it abundantly clear where he wants to go? There's also the issue of wages and apparently Gelhardt is on big bucks on Leeds's books and Rangers wouldn't be able to match the figure being banded about.

I'm not sure what sort of budget Rohl is going to be given but some of it is having to come from player sales and a share flotation expected to raise circa £16 million. He'll be fishing in a relatively small pool and will have nowhere near the amount available that Jakirovic will have at his disposal.

Did rangers qualify for Europe? They will get a wedge of cash for that plus the attraction of playing in a euro competition.

Europa League,so yes, they'll lift decent money from that and I would imagine some but not all of that will filter back to Rohl. One big signing would likely wipe it out though.

This young 18 year old lad on loan from Spurs(Mikey Moore) has become a bit of a terrace favourite, wants to come back this season and Tottenhams survival has paved the way for his return.I have heard Rangers are serious about him long term but they'd probably need 2 years earnings from Europe to secure his signature...
